My friends all wait.
They wait to make use of their degrees. They wait for a job to open. They wait to finish graduate school. Again.
They all wait. The economy stinks. It stunk before we started earning salaries. The job market is nonexistent. Even small colleges are filled up. The technology we mastered as curious children is sitting there, but we can't do anything with it. No, it's too busy. It's being used by you people.
And the jobs? You people. The schools? Again, you people. You baby boomers. You're why we're waiting.
Like every generation before us, my generation has gone to school. Most of us are dangling our feet in our parents' homes while boomers continue to work so they can make money. And put off retirement. And attempt to keep the economy afloat you know, the economy the boomers ruined.
Lately, some critics have concluded that the current 20-somethings are delaying their careers, staying at home and relying on mommy and daddy because they're lazy, or disinterested, or scared of social commitment.
I disagree, and profoundly.
The main reason we 20-somethings still sleep at mom's house is because mom and dad won't get out of the work force. They're clogging the pipeline.
Baby boomers make up the largest generation in American history. The current 20-something generation is almost as large, ironically, thanks to the boomers having all those kids.
you voted for obozo,
so enjoy!
I don’t recommend insulting the people who are going to choose (and run) your nursing homes.
Which generation spawned the hippie movement again? Oh, that’s right—it was the Boomers.
In our family even Grandpa is still in the job market! And I say power to him. Young whippersnappers, you will be old too one day. Have a heart. And remember that employment is NOT a zero sum game. Come up with an idea, and pretty soon you will be hiring people!
There is room for everyone.
Wasn’t it the 20 somethings that voted so overwhelmingly for the scum we have in the White House today? Hmmmmm.
He’s partially right. The Boomers and my generation - X - have destroyed the economy and are spending the futures of the next few generations n
We blew it?
You might want to talk to the geezer buddies that spent your social security. Or the Boomer presidents of Clinton, Bush and Obama.
That is silly. If there were no abortion, there might be a lot less random hooking up like rodents.
(I am 100% pro-life, by the way)
Right, which is why we are out of work. Have a heart, give us a damn break.
Lets see, baby boomers are bad if they retire early; baby boomers are bad if they work longer.
Ohhhhhkaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy.........
“That is silly. If there were no abortion, there might be a lot less random hooking up like rodents.”
Which is why a third of my generation is no longer here? Gee, maybe that’s why demand is dropping. Yeah, thanks boomers. Really appreciate that, btw.
Generation Bump!
The baby boomer generation were the most educated, productive and affluent all. They were the most competitive because they had to be. There was lots of competition for jobs and that is what drove us.
The new generation gave us “hope and change” and the Greatest Generation gave us the welfare state. The boomers gave us the Clintons.
Never in any generation of my family have we used a nursing home nor do we plan to. Gulags are more companssionate. Nursing homes do make their owners rich however; and for the likes of junior here, that's all that matters.
The hippie movement was mostly spawned by the Silent Generation, i.e. between the greatest generation and boomers, the boomers just followed the lead. Actually, the leaders of the hippie movement, Tim Leary, Richard Alpert (Babba Ram Das), Alan Ginsburg, and Alan Watts, were from the greatest generation.
Honey, the laws passed kicking your ass isn’t Boomers. Simple math, which you should have learned is self-explanatory. We are the ones shouting to the rooftops to stop this madness. Thanks for joining the club, but stop blaming me.
Xer Ping
Ping list for the discussion of the politics and social (and sometimes nostalgic) aspects that directly effects Generation Reagan / Generation-X (Those born from 1965-1981) including all the spending previous generations are doing that Gen-X and Y will end up paying for.

By your own admission the latest “Boomer” could not vote until 1982. Be careful on that blanket.
That would mean I would have to accept TWO things, of which I cannot accept. And one which I doubt.
First, I cannot accept: that "lower classes" are somehow automatically going to have more "lower class" children and that these children lack any free will. That is "classism" and I leave that divisional labeling for the liberals.
Second, I doubt that the poor are significantly the one's having abortions. Abortion is a method of the middle and upper middle classes. The poor have many babies. That blacks were the intended targets of Abortion, by Singer an her ilk, and that they have a higher "ratio" than other groups, does not mean higher in ACTUAL numbers.
Thirdly and lastly, that which I cannot accept: Is the potential for your line of reasoning to be used or suggested as a "good thing". I would rather this nation PERISH as a nation unable to feed and cloth it's lazy poor tit sucking underbellied lazy lower classes, than to have it survive as an infant sacrificing dark reflection of Satanism.
Satan is running amok right now. GOD requires one thing.
Somehow we have all strayed form the moral path and given God a back-seat to whatever we were all busy with. THAT is the crux of our problem.
