House G.O.P. Leader Signals He’s Open to Obama Tax Cut (Hey Slimes, it's not "Obama Tax Cuts".

The House Republican leader, Representative John A. Boehner of Ohio, said on Sunday that he was prepared to vote in favor of legislation that would let the Bush-era tax cuts expire for the wealthiest Americans if Democrats insisted on continuing the lower rates only for families earning less than $250,000 a year.

Speaking on “Face the Nation” on CBS, Mr. Boehner made clear that he supports continuing the lower tax rates at all income levels and that he believes the Democrats would be making a mistake by increasing taxes on anyone, given the weak economy.

But Mr. Boehner said that absent any other option, he would vote in favor of legislation proposed by President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic leaders who say they want to continue the lower rates only for Americans they regard as middle class.

Sure it is when you have Bonehead Republicans giving away the Ranch. They do not want to win. They want to get their Loot with no responsibility or heavy lifting. Disgusting.

tax cuts = deficits? The Democrat spending is the problem. When will Boehner learn and be able to articulate the truth; tax cuts = long term revenue surplus(growth, jobs too)?

“....said on Sunday that he was prepared to vote in favor of legislation that would let the Bush-era tax cuts expire for the wealthiest Americans...”

####

Like the RaceMarxist in Chief an utter economic dunce.

1) The “wealthiest Americans” BY FAR pay the most taxes and are inordinately punished for their success. In a free and fair society, (not the semi-civilize Congo that Zero is striving for), they are the very individuals MOST deserving of tax cuts.

2) The “wealthiest Americans” drive the American economy. Hammer them and you hurt everyone. Everyone, except the underclass of professional parasites, of course.

Most employees don’t make $250K but most employers do. This “screw the jobs” mentality is killing us.

This scheme is nothing but another job killer. Republicans need to articulate their position on taxes and job creation, and not worry about playing politics with leftnuts.

I still have no confidence that the GOP will repeal this Govt health care.
Obviously they can do it unless we win in 2012 and if we have the power to stop it then they better repeal it.

Shut up, Boner.

This guy must go.

I supported his offer to extend the Bush tax cuts IN THEIR ENTIRETY for two more years. Better to make them permanent, but that ain’t going to happen this year, and next year will be too late unless they are extended.

But give in on this faux “tax the rich” business? Nonsense. We all know that what starts out as taxing only the rich ALWAYS ends up hitting anybody who is productive enough to pay any taxes at all.

So, shut up, you jerk!

The proposed $250,000 limit is for families, not individuals. Middle-class families in metro areas can make that where both earners are managers.

The limit for individuals is $200,000.

Notice the mariage penalty?

Haven’t these “tax cuts” already been in place for 9 years? Where’s the “long term revenue surplus(growth, jobs too) that we were promised when they got passed?

All we’ve seen is the top 1% get phenomenally richer while the rest of us get our jobs shipped overseas so the top 1% can make even *more* profits.

he’s calling zero’s bluff- though he could use a better strategy and demand that the cuts be made permanent...

If the Dems let them expire, they are no longer “Bush tax cuts.”

Then weeks later, they can ride into the rescue (extend them) and claim credit as “Obama’s tax cuts.”

You watch. Bank on it.

So either lower taxes for small business would stimulate growth...per Republican mantra, but Boehner doesn’t care about growth, or it doesn’t stimulate growth and is just a negotiable point of honor.....which is it? I still have not seen enough out of the Republican party to hope that they can turn this country around. The can probably handle the brakes well enough to slow down our approach to catastrophic economic failure, but they refuse to steer a reverse course.

It seems you are addressing trade policies, which is fine, I can understand the argument to be made for better trade policy and your free to post about that all day long. I see a lot of growth quarters, and would argue Bush didn't/couldn't cut taxes enough.

As for the top 1% get phenomenally richer, I'm not going for a class envy argument, everyone has the right to gather wealth here.
