Heres a preview of how the Midterm media battles will be waged. The New York Times is running a front page feature on House Minority leader John Boehner (a 60-year-old, perpetually tanned, sharply tailored, chain-smoking golfer) the man recently cast as President Obamas main foe in the Republican party, and Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has taken to Twitter to tell you how much he really wants you to read it.
The article details Boehners especially tight ties with a circle of lobbyists and former aides representing some of the nations biggest businesses, including Goldman Sachs, Google, Citigroup, R. J. Reynolds, MillerCoors and UPS and speculates on how these ties influence his political decisions in dubious ways.
From 2000 to 2007, Mr. Boehner flew at least 45 times, often with his wife, Debbie, on corporate jets provided by companies including R. J. Reynolds. (As required, Mr. Boehner reimbursed part of the costs.) In addition, over the last decade he has taken 41 other trips paid for by corporate sponsors or industry groups, often to popular golf spots. That makes him one of the top House beneficiaries of such travel, which has recently been curbed as a result of changes in ethics rules.
It goes on, but you get the picture, and the NYT has provided a handy little chart of Boehners K-Street Cabinet. Robert Gibbs, meanwhile, is very keen you read it. In a case of what might be called overplaying your Twitter, Gibbs has tweeted about the story no less than four times in the last hour, including expressing concern that the black and white chart doesnt give proper due to Boehners tan. Feels like a bit too much of a good thing on Gibbs part, but perhaps hes been inspired by the recent success of Sarah Palin and is hoping to wield his Twitter account in a similar manner. Maybe cluster twitters are the new negative campaign ad.

Desperately Pathetic Communists. Trying the old 5 year plan routine.
I'm thinking a few real Republicans might win HOR seats here; the power mongers didn't seem too interested in them.
>>perpetually tanned, sharply tailored, chain-smoking golfer
who is he talking about....
Who Is John Boehner?
/sarcasm.
And why would anyone in this country or any other country read the NYT?
/serious.
Gibbs probably wrote the piece.
But let’s remember the real battle is not GOP establishment against democrats.
It’s conservatism (untainted by the corruption of incumbency) against socialism. The real battle is getting candidates like Christine O’Donnell and Allen West into Congress.
I won’t waste my time with these pretend power struggles staged by the ruling class to keep our focus off the real fight.
Boehner will be lucky if he doesn’t get sent home for being a rino, when the time comes.
Ha haaaaa!!! Joke’s on you, Bob. NOBODY reads The NYT.

my first thougt to... Obama?
...I’m happy they’re attacking Boehner...it tells me they’ve already conceded that he’s the next Speaker of the House.
Bump !
Nice try, Gibby, but Boehner is not responsible for the mess this country is in. Be proud and take credit for it!
too funny
Gibbs:
Don’t forget this handy clip & save graphic of K Street Cabinet (black & white photo doesn’t do that tan justice!) http://nyti.ms/9n1wVp .
Unlike DumBO.

Change the age, and you describe the current occupant of the oval office.
agree...we dont need Boehner. He is a make a deal, cant we all just get along DC elite. Dump him as speaker..should we win.
Other than being against confiscatory taxes, what exactly are you implying here?
I'm busy trying to accumulate enough wealth to retire, are you against that?
Can't be 0bama. He wears 'mom' jeans. Otherwise the description fits.
