No Sweetness from Obama on Rosh Hashanah
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | Karen McQuillan

Posted on 09/12/2010 6:48:01 AM PDT by Michael van der Galien

This week Jews across America celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and received holiday greetings from our President that were remarkable for their offensive preachiness. Beyond a perfunctory wish for a sweet New Year, Jews got a lecture on the Two State solution. American Jews were told this is a time to repent, think of those in need, embrace diversity, cultivate humility and compassion, move beyond differences with the Palestinians, and choose the Two State solution.

Not a single word of praise for Judaism or American Jews. Not one. For that matter, after the first sentence, the word Jew does not appear, and Judaism is not mentioned by name at all. Obama doesn’t seem to like speaking about Jews or Judaism. (In his Ramadan message which is one hundred words shorter, the words Muslim and Islam are used seven times.)

For the sake of comparison, look at President George Bush’s 2001 message , or President Reagan’s superb Rosh Hashanah message in 1984.

Nancy and I hear (the shofar’s) call and are reminded by it that so much in our American heritage is drawn from the religious values enunciated during the Jewish High Holy Days…. The ties between the Jewish and American traditions run deep and are related in no small way to the special relationship that exists between the United States and Israel — a relationship based on the common spiritual and ethical values encompassed in the shofar’s call to prayer.

To appreciate how arrogant Obama’s Rosh Hashanah statement was, compare it to Obama’s words on Christmas, Ramadan, or St. Patrick’s day. St. Patrick’s is a model of normal politic blarney on an ethnic holiday. Obama’s Ramadan message is a weird world of sycophantic praise...

This Jew has a Rosh Hashanah greeting for you Barack Hussein Obama. Go screw yerself. We can’t wait to see you booted out of the White House. Meanwhile we will take Congress from your Democrat Party and thus will nullify any further socialist crap you are planning to foist on the American people. Then you can go shoot hoops and play golf with Tiger Woods for your remaining two years. We won’t care

America’s collectivist class, A.K.A. “Jews” got a snide letter from the Manchurian Candidate From Mecca whom they not only voted for, they contributed to his election.

JUST CURIOUS: CAN YOU NAME ANY OTHER DEMOGRAPHIC GROUP THAT ALSO CONTRIBUTED - BY PREPONDERANCE OF VOTES, NOT NEC. $$ - TO HIS ELECTION (BESIDES BLACKS, OF COURSE)?

Worse yet, their families were mostly collectivist since they arrived from Germany or Russia and the vast majority of them worked diligently for collectivism.

THIS IS A GROTESQUE OVERSTATEMENT. GERMAN JEWS? COLLECTIVIST SINCE THEY ARRIVED? UNTIL THE 1930s, THEY WERE (OUTSIDE THE DEEP SOUTH) SOLIDLY REPUBLICAN. EVEN AT THE NEW YORK TIMES.

So - “Line Bred Collectivists” were dissed by the “Head Collectivist”, a Halfrican who willingly attended 20 years of sermons by the Jew hating Rev. Wright. What a surprise!!

YES, ISN’T IT PATHETIC? WORSE IS THAT MANY WILL READ OBAMA’S ADDRESS AND SAY SOMETHING LIKE, “PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST WILL ONLY GET DONE IF THE US BULLIES NETANYAHU INTO GIVING UP MORE TERRITORY . . . .”

The soi dissant ‘smartest people’ couldn’t see this coming?

MANY OF US DID, AND TRIED TO STOP IT.

Their dogma just got run over by their karma.

Collectivism is antithetical to America. The Pilgrim experience should have made that clear.

ARE YOU SAYING THAT THE PILGRIMS WERE TOTALLY ANTI-COLLECTIVIST? WERE NOT CERTAIN LANDS (PASTURES, FOR EXAMPLE) OWNED BY ALL? WERE THERE ALSO NOT INDIVIDUAL COLLECTIVIST COMMUNITIES (SMALL AND OF SHORT DURATION) IN THE US BEFORE ANYONE HAD EVEN HEARD OF SOCIALISM?

For the very few Jews who may visit Free Republic

THERE ARE MORE THAN YOU IMAGINE, G.G., WHO ALSO POST & CONTRIBUTE HERE.

There are none so dumb as those who will not learn.

TRUE, ALAS, ACROSS ALL COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE GLOBE.

Did I not notice falling into the Rabbit Hole? Or did you?

Where to start, where to start? Hmmmn - how about with this: “THIS IS A GROTESQUE OVERSTATEMENT. GERMAN JEWS? COLLECTIVIST SINCE THEY ARRIVED? UNTIL THE 1930s, THEY WERE (OUTSIDE THE DEEP SOUTH) SOLIDLY REPUBLICAN. EVEN AT THE NEW YORK TIMES.”

The owner of the New York Slimes was careful to make sure his paper was totally in support of FRD and his collectivist programs. If any Jew at the Slimes was a Pubbie, said Jew wrote like a collectivist.

If you have examples indicating otherwise, I would like to know of them.

We agree that decisions have consequences. I have dubbed such Jews “OffenJuden” to emphasize their continuing allegiance to ideas that led their ancestors into the ovens of the Third Reich. Some folks just refuse to learn from history.

Did you read “That Turkey Is Marxist”? The Pilgrims had a most grim experience because their backers forced collectivism on them. According to Governor William Bradford, it “...was nearly our undoing.”.

He further gave detailed examples of how only individual plantings and individual harvests kept them alive, and allowed for sufficient surplus as to allow inviting the Indians for the first Thanksgiving.

Imperfect as the Pilgrims knew themselves to be, they could recognize failure when it killed nearly half of them. They also instituted a different form of land management, made it work, and recognized success when it was actualized.

Were Bradford to come back today, he would surely denounce collectivism today as he did them. He did, after all describe the decision to try collectivism as an act of men who “thought themselves wiser than the Almighty”.

I would argue that were Bradford would see Obama and his band of thugs, he would consider them to have made the same mistake.

Defying history and the clear commandments of G*d tend to lead to unhappy places. Bradford lived through such an attempt and wrote most eloquently to warn us.

Obama never read Bradford, as his crowd preferred Marx and a sordid assortment of Post Colonial African collectivist writings.

As for many Jews trying to stop the tide of Socialism, I regretfully must argue that less than 5% of AMerican Jews tried to stop socialism.

Regretfully, less than 5% is considered insignificant in any reasonable statistical analysis.

Jews have conflated “Social Justice”, the collectivist deception word, with the Mosaic call for a just society.

Bad Move! But even worse theology! ! !

Jews, and all too many other Americans, voted to enlist government to steal from others to benefit those they wanted to benefit.

A certain Commandment said “Don’t Steal”. Arguably, G*d assumed Man would know that when your agent steals, you are responsible. Torah and Talmud are clear on this issue.

As collectivism is theft, collectivism is forbidden to Jew and American.

As my coreligionists ask for forgiveness and inscription in the Book of Life, arguably they should apologize for their collectivism, make their apology both public and sincere, and offer restitution.

Mosaic law on forgiveness does require those acts.

;-)

At least it once did.

:-(

Re: collectivism. I was trying to say that collectivism did not enter the US when Jewish immigration began (which actually was in 1654, as you probably know), which is how I read your post (imperfectly, it would appear).

As far as NYT endorsing Republicans - I stand corrected on 1932: it did endorse FDR. But check this out (From The American Presidency Project):

General Election Editorial Endorsements by the New York Times: 1896 — 2008

Year date of edititon nominee endorsed
2008 October 23 Barack Obama
2004 October 17 John Kerry
2000 October 29 Albert Gore, Jr.
1996 October 27 William J. Clinton
1992 October 25 William J. Clinton
1988 October 30 Michael Dukakis
1984 October 28 Walter Mondale
1980 October 26 Jimmy Carter
1976 October 24 Jimmy Carter
1972 September 28 George McGovern
1968 October 6 Hubert H. Humphrey
1964 November 1 Lyndon B. Johnson
1960 October 27 John F. Kennedy
1956 October 16 Dwight D. Eisenhower
1952 October 23 Dwight D. Eisenhower
1948 October 3 Thomas Dewey
1944 October 16 Franklin D. Roosevelt
1940 October 24 Wendell Willkie
1936 October 1 Franklin D. Roosevelt
1932 November 6 Franklin D. Roosevelt
1928 October 18 NY Times states “Happy with Either”
(Hoover or Smith)
1924 November 2 NY Times declined to endorse
1920 November 2 no specific endorsement although the Editorial is highly critical of the Republicans
1916 October 21 Woodrow Wilson
1912 November 5 Woodrow Wilson
1908 October 20 William Howard Taft
1904 August 31 Theodore Roosevelt
1900 October 11 William McKinley
1896 October 20 William McKinley

AS TO WHETHER “COLLECTIVISM IS (ipso facto) THEFT,” AND WHETHER THE BIBLICAL EXHORTATIONS TO “FEED THE HUNGRY” REQUIRE 100% PRIVATE ACTION OR THAT OF GOV’T: I NEED MUCH MORE CAFFEINE TO GO INTO THAT -MORE THAN I HAVE INGESTED TODAY.

;D

Here in Miuba Florida, we have a marvelous example of multiculturalsim. Instead of the barista at Five Bucks, we go to the ubiquitous Cuban cafe’s counter and ask for a “colado”, “Uno colado” if being properly multicultural.

For anywhere from 80 cents (Baptist Hospital cafe) to $1.25 (anywhere in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, all the way to Palm Beach) will get you more than the Five Bucks double dip espresso. More coffee, less attitude. Such a deal!

If you like cream in coffee, the caffe con leche is the way to go. Same low price, large serving, etc.

For the record, Jews an Muslims both celebrate the same day. Over the years, they have forgotten why the day is important but they know it is and have declared it a holiday.

Jews celebrate Thursday, September 9, 2010 Rosh Hashanah Muslims call it Eid al Fitar

A-mein. Unfortunate that the majority of our co-religionists in this country have swallowed the Kool-Aid, but I’m not sure that people on this board understand that there actually are Jews who know EXACTLY what this guy is and what it means to the USA and to Jews who live here and care about our religion.

This year they happen to coincide. Most years they don't and thank God for that. Jews are not in the false prophet business. Muslims are. Maimonides called Mo a false prophet and he suffered under Islamic rule. Left Spain due to it

The correct name for the day is “Yom Teruah.”

It is the day of the beggining of all things, and it was also the day on which Jesus Christ was born into the world.

It will also be the day of the Great White Throne Judgement.

Not the kind of day that Obummer would like to acknowledge.
