The pastor at the centre of the Koran-burning row has challenged a New York Imam to call off the building of a mosque at Ground Zero.
Pastor Terry Jones and his colleague Pastor K A Paul read out their telephone number live on television and said the Imam has just two hours to respond.
"It appear that the pastor has reconsidered his earlier deal over the New York mosque."

Yes it is. That's all this is about.
It's about building a victory monument as they always do after a successful attack.
Right. A "monument" that won't even be visible from the sight of the attack.
It's about it being a headquarters for more attacks.
LOL. Do you really think the terrorists are stupid enough to make a high profile place like that their headquarters?
It's about having a mosque only 5 blocks away already.
Right. So by your logic, there's already a headquarters for terrorists 5 blocks away. How does refusal to build this one enhance our security?
It has NOTHING to do with feelings and everything to do with defense and not surrendering.
Defense? LOL. Okay, please explain how preventing this mosque will enhance our national defense.
Exactly! That's why I hope both the mosque and the Koran burning happen. People need to learn to grow thicker skin.
God bless him forever.
Somehow they haven't objected to the opening of strip clubs and gay bars in the area, either.
Preach it!!
You are a lefty economics professor from a liberal state. Of course you'd think it's about feelings. For liberals, everything is about feelings. For a conservative, it's about facts, logic and history. Go pedal your lefty drivel elsewhere. Got it? I'm not buying.
Somehow, it seems to me all the strip clubs, gay bars, and off-track betting joints all within 2 blocks of ground zero have already completed the work of desecration.
That's exactly right. Facts and logic should be the deciding factors in policy for a conservative, not emotion.
Funny how none of your arguments against the mosque are based on facts or logic. They are pure emotion.
That makes you the lefty, not me.
Yep -- remember Arafat's "peace accord"? LOL!
I think he’s doing a right thing. Of the right courses available, his is among them.
He’s the one who’s using the whip.....like Jesus did.
It would be better if he cut an IMAM in half.
You are insisting it's about feelings. It is not. Muslims build victory mosques near successful attacks. That's not emotion. It's fact.
The Imam, Rauf, has said if it's NOT built, there will be violence. That's fact. And that's about national security. Islam is a form of government wrapped in the mantle of religion. That's a fact too. And they want a bigger foothold in America. There are already 30 mosques in NYC. That's a fact.
Take your "feelings" crap and go troll someone else.
>People need to learn to grow thicker skin.
Hey, we’re Americans, even a cigarette can send us to paroxysms of puritanical self righteousness.
IMO, a better place for the mosque and to show our tolerance bonafides would be on the top floor of the new tower at the site.
Right. A "monument" that won't even be visible from the sight of the attack.
The imam has published a book about his planned mosque, What's Right with Islam: a New Vision for Muslims and the West (HarperCollins, 2004), reissued in an "Indonesian language edition" (Wikipedia) in 2007, titled Seruan Azan Dari Puing WTC: Dakwah Islam di Jantung Amerika Pasca 9/11, which translates as A Call to Prayer from the WTC Rubble: Islamic Dawah from the Heart of America Post 911.
Dawah means "missionary work" for Islam. That would include shari'a law, which is directly contradictory to much of our Constitution, despite their claims.
Exactly.
Somehow they haven't objected to the opening of strip clubs and gay bars in the area, either.
The mosque users will soon take care of that for them.
Exactly what denomination do those at the Dove World Outreach Center belong to? They behave like a pack of hillbillies who came down from the mountain into town and decided to really whoop it up.
Jesus didn’t use the whip against idol-worshipping Romans but rather against fellow Jews who perverted God’s word for their personal agendas.
He persistently stayed out of politics and concentrated on personal attitude and behavior.
Think about it.
I have watched the young jerks once or twice and I don’t think I could stomach watching one more minute of the young jerks.
