Barack Obama is the most antibusiness president in a generation, perhaps in American history. Thanks to him the era of big government is back. Obama runs up taxpayer debt not in the billions but in the trillions. He has expanded the federal government's control over home mortgages, investment banking, health care, autos and energy. The Weekly Standard summarizes Obama's approach as omnipotence at home, impotence abroad.
The President's actions are so bizarre that they mystify his critics and supporters alike. Consider this headline from the Aug. 18, 2009 issue of the Wall Street Journal: "Obama Underwrites Offshore Drilling." Did you read that correctly? You did. The Administration supports offshore drilling--but drilling off the shores of Brazil. With Obama's backing, the U.S. Export-Import Bank offered $2 billion in loans and guarantees to Brazil's state-owned oil company Petrobras to finance exploration in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro--not so the oil ends up in the U.S. He is funding Brazilian exploration so that the oil can stay in Brazil.

I think most people fail to understand that people on the left, like Obama, only embrace islam because islam can help destroy the capitalistic, limited-government nations of the world.
It is just like Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo becoming allies even though all three had different views of the world. They figured once the world was dominated, they could either carve it up or battle it out for ultimate control.
The rest (unions, environmentalists, professors, homosexuals, etc) are just useful idiots assisting these power-hungry people take control, but who will be discarded once the heavy-lifting is complete.

Obama hasn’t grasped that nor have millions, perhaps billions of others. It would appear that there is a huge movement to kill the normal human desire to be independent and autonomous. The current depression is far more dangerous than the one in the thirties simply because not only is there a much larger population which means the current level cannot be sustained except by ultramodern agricultural techniques but only a very small minority know anything about how to produce food. In the thirties we still had a large percentage who knew how to survive on their own so long as they were physically able. Now we have vast numbers who could literally starve in the midst of plenty for lack of basic knowledge that used to be common. I can actually visualize masses fighting over scraps and it could happen very soon, in fact it will happen barring some kind of complete turnaround.
There is a recent proliferation of “survival” shows on television but they all concentrate on one individual or two surviving in the wilderness. We need something on how to survive in what is left of civilization (which is fading fast).
