After 9/11 and every terrorist attack since we are told that Islam is a religion of peace, a small percentage are radicals and we shouldn’t judge a billion people by the actions of a few. Yet every free world leader and even folks like Hannity are crapping themselves over fears of Muslim reaction to a parish of less than 50 members, begging them not to do it. Where is the reciprocity? Why the chants of “Death To America” over the actions of a small group of people? How is it that entire nations go crazy over the actions of a few?

The hypocrisy is mind-boggling. It also makes that “Let Freedom Ring” theme song on Hannity’s show sound pretty hollow as he uses his program as a one-sided begathon for tolerance.

Fox News is about 20% Saudi-owned, IIRC.

I haven’t watched Hannity the last few days. Are you telling me that he’s openly siding with zero, etc., against this church burning the koran?

nail on head.
they say a mosque being built near where 3000 died.
Cross in piss.
Crap on a painting of the virgin Mary.
Burning flags.
Burning Bibles
are all 1st amendment rights.
Killing non muslims and we’re told to understand them and that they are small group.
but burning a koran is wrong and should not be happening.

I hope this pastor says I had no intention to burning it but wanted to make a point and show the hypocrisy of the white house, the far left and islam.

They muslims acted violently and then they say they’re a religion of peace.

As for Hannity I’ve had it with him, the man is a coward who cannot talk about social issues like the homosexual agenda, abortion etc, tells a soldier yesterday on the radio that we should not provoke them and that this will endanger our troops.

if Hannity had served and been in a war like the soldier he was talking to then he would know that we’re in a war and we’re already in danger.

I do not advocate “incitement” of this kind due to the very real dangers to the lives of Americans all over the world..... but the simple fact that there are such pervasive fears about the possible/likely effects of such an act shows what we are dealing with. Islam the “religion of peace” (sic) breeds vast numbers of followers who will slit our throats for any reason or no reason, for the mere “provocation” of some obscure nobody in Florida.

Do so-called “leaders” in Islam struggle to get their followers to stop burning US flags to prevent ordinary Americans from going on killing sprees against Muslims? I didn’t think so.

‘..we are told that Islam is a religion of peace, a small percentage are radicals and we shouldn’t judge a billion people by the actions of a few....’

exactly. I hope the Minister does not go throught with this....2 wrongs don’t make a right. BUT, where are the leaders asking the Afghan people to stop the anti-American, anti-Christian protests because they shouldn’t judge all Americans or all Christians by the actions of a few?? Did I miss that....?? Has any member of the media asked this question? Why is the media covering this...?

They are “going crazy” precisely because what Pastor Jones intends to do is potentially one of the most powerful “acts of resistance” that The West has yet to show in response to Islam’s jihad.

By the simple act of throwing some books into a flame, a symbol of Western will and Resistance is created before all the Muslims of the world. They will not forget what they have seen.

It embodies the defiance, and revulsion of The West towards what Islam believes, represents, and practices (note that I specifically use “Islam” in the general sense as distinguished from using “Islamists”).

On September 11, 2001, we all saw the videos of the World Trade Center exploding in flames at the moment of impact - those very images are re-posted right here on FR from time to time. There is no need to query most Freepers about how they feel and what they think about seeing them.

Shortly thereafter, George W. Bush went before the cameras and declared that Islam is “a religion of peace”.

And now, Pastor Jones throws the Quran into the fire.

Of these two specific acts, which one demonstrates an appropriate reaction by The West in the face of what Islam revealed to us on September 11, 2001?

Which one conveys the impression that we of The West intend to win?

Like this guy Jones or not, he understands what this struggle is about. I, for one, hope he doesn’t back down.

I sense that the “Quran burning controversy” has the potential to ignite a heretofore “below the surface” level of support amongst ordinary Americans, the same way that the “Arizona immigration law controversy” has.

It may indeed become one of the major symbols of the worldwide struggle in which we are now engaged.
