SEPTEMBER 8--The Florida pastor who is planning to burn a pile of Korans this weekend runs a church that has established a variety of cult-like rules for individuals studying to become ministers, according to the groups rulebook.
The Dove World Outreach Center (DWOC), headed by Islam-hating Rev. Terry Jones, has been widely denounced for its September 11 bonfire plans. The tiny Gainesville church is headed by Jones and his wife Sylvia, a co-pastor.
The DWOCs Academy Rulebook, a copy of which youll find here, was created in November 2007 by Sylvia Jones. The document, which details the standards to which a prospective DWOC minister must adhere, addresses topics such as behavior, study, and communication. It is also filled with the kind of creepy directions that are often associated with cults.
For instance, students are directed to cut off most contact with family members. Family occasions like wedding, funerals or Birthdays are no exception to this rule, the rulebook notes. No phone calls. Exceptions can be made under certain circumstances but only after receiving permission.
The Joneses also barred Singles from having romantic relationships to the opposite sex

I didn’t say the US military would be “justified” in taking him out.
I said that I would not be surprised if one of our soldiers would do it if given a chance... friendly fire.
The press has nearly 40 years of practice ignoring events on the Mall. They’ve successfully ignored the massive prolife gathering for decades.
Well yeah, I get that, but the original text was correct. There was no typo on my end. Seriously. So the v got dropped either in the paste to the comment box or later. “Not my fault, Indiana Jones.” :(
Well, I bet they would notice if a few korans spontaneously combusted.
IMO, it’s as stupidly, senslessly provacative to burn the QuRan as it is to build a mosque on ground zero to celebrate the Islamist victory on 9/11/01. While neither are technically illegal, that doesn’t make either act right.
Love it! “Burn the mutha down!”
The left want to fabricate it into a crisis. That’s what they do because they can’t advance their ideology by presenting it rationally.
This plays into the hands of the leftists and the jihadists.
It doesn’t advance our cause. Burning korans is like having prementrual syndrome. It’s not like fighting for our side.
The jihadists only back down when faced with strength.
People need to get a grip.
The Qur’an burning is being done by a tiny “church” which is in reality a sect. This weird sect has little to do with mainstream Christianity.
Except for the massive amount of publicity that this sect it getting, it matters very, very little whether they burn a Qur’an—or a whole pile of them—or not. It’s as if some family, or other small group, decided to observe Sept. 11th by burning a Qur’an in their backyard. I’m sure that that has been done before, but with little or no publicity.
If a conclave of Roman Catholic or Orthodox Bishops, or of Methodist ministers and laity, decided to burn a pile of Qur’ans in front of the news media, that would be news. But that’s not happening.
Meanwhile, a Sufi jihadist posing as a “moderate” duped the owners of the “Park51” building to sell it to him. and he is building a towering mosque right near Ground Zero. This is a continuation of the 9/11 attacks, and people are rightly outraged. And muslims are doing all sorts of things to conquer the world, by any means possible. That is REAL news!!!!
Let’s focus on what’s important. That goes not only for us. but for public figures like Gen. Petraeus (whom I expected a lot better from) and Mitt Romney.
Was the Beck rally like PMS too?
Lots of freaks in Gainesville...
I do believe we are seeing a larger struggle here, and we have to remain strong.
I also know who triumphs.
I pray every day for guidance, and strength.
Anyone else find it fishy that a guy who supports Westboro (which thinks America deserved 9/11 and roots for our solders’ defeat) would be speaking out against Jihad?
Jones = lieberal.
“Is he as creepy as Jeremiah Wright, mentor to the President of the United States for 20 years?!!”
It sounds like it.
No kidding. Burning Korans sounds like that old Monte Python skit.
It was General Patreaus article in the Wall Street Journal that dragged an unknown reverend into the spotlight. It was a deliberate act and only in time will we know for certain who orchestrated the plan to persecute an unknown redneck pastor in Gainseville, FL. Don’t tell me it was his tractor trailer billboard that caught the world’s attention? This circus is deliberate, calculated, pernicious and odious. Curse the “progressive” who designed it. Divide and conquer.
Has he published the quotes from the Imam of the Ground Zero mosque accusing the United States of terrorism?
*********
Or prayed for the damnation of the entire nation?
Jim Jones was a San Francisco, liberal, socialist Jimmy Carter democrat. Facts are stubborn things.
