PARMA, Ohio – With less than an hour before President Obama's scheduled speech, 75 seats remained empty in the recreation center at Cuyahoga Community College's Western Campus.

So organizers went around campus and recruited more students to fill the seats.

“I would go attend just so I could get up out of my seat and leave during the key part of his speech. I might even yell out “YOU LIE” while I walk out.”

rick that would be awesome. I wish you could make it happen

Was there any Q&A session? I’d like to come and ask some nice questions... I wonder if the background check included “who did you vote for in 2008?”

This is a pity for the Narcissist in the White House. It shows how desperate he must be to get his daily “fix,” - as meager as it might be. He should just stay in DC and go over an talk with Pelosi or Reid if he needs to get pumped up. That would save taxpayers a lot of money, save the locals a lot of trouble providing security, and save face at the same time. He has no message anymore. It has been obvious for months that only a few want to hear him, and fewer believe him. My grandfather always said: the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Obama is proof.

Did they find enough "white faces" to sit behind him this time?

He had that problem once before and they were desperate to get more "white faces" to stand/sit behind him and drool over him.

Students, politicians, union members and Obama supporters are among those who received tickets to the event, which is for invited guests only. Each of the three Tri-C campuses received about 50 tickets for students.

About 1,200 people are expected to hear Obama’s speech on the economy.

The President will speak to an invitation-only crowd this afternoon at Tri-C’s West campus.

In all, 1,000 people will attend.

The last sitting President to visit Tri-C’s campus was President Bill Clinton, almost two decades ago.

You couldn’t pay me enough to go, although the thought of screaming “You lie” after every other sentence does appeal to me. Once wouldn’t be enough.

That is why his appearances are closed to the public now.

Same as in Wisconsin. By invitation only.

As someone in the comments section noted: "How shameful that an elected officeholder flies in to town on a publicly bought jet, is escorted and secured by probably hundreds of publicly paid police, to give a speech in a publicly owned facility, and the event is not open to the public. What a sham. I hope someone is reimbursing the taxpayers for the costs of this partisan campaign appearance.."

Not only tepid, from what I saw on FNC, but one young man standing behind zerO, in the second row, to the viewers’ left, kept “counting the house”. Either that, or he was looking for directions. He looked skeptical and his eyes would shift left to right and when looking straight ahead, he looked unhappy. He wouldn’t clap until others did so.

Personally, I was appalled at the string of outright lies issuing from zerO. I was between rooms and topped just long enough to watch the guy I described. Then, I turned it off.

That’s one thing about the military, people will show up for the President....or else!

Personally, I'd have to beg off, if for no other reason than my toenails needed trimming. Priorities.

In the military, it's known as "mandatory audience duty", and it's not limited to Presidents.

A telling sign of how easy or difficult it was to fill the seats is the Presidential Handshake with the Troops. President Clinton regularly had to reach out for hands to shake, but President G.W. Bush didn't - hands were reaching out to shake his.

Just read Email & found out a hundred or so Tea Parties were there protesting & were interviewed by French TV (AND WILL BE ON... OR WERE ALREADY)

I have not been up on email as the roof work has been time consuming..there was a notice/invite to participate.

here is the note from the gent who wrote me:

God's Favor was with us today in Parma Ohio at Tri C. Obama made his pitch on $50 Billion for infrastructure.(Cutting what?) The money keeps getting spent with a great price to be paid later. Its all socialism and going towards communism. It has to stop for our children and grandchildren sakes. The Patriots were there protesting over 100. Uncle Sam needs your help, participate.

French Television was in town for another story and heard about the Tea Party Protest and he came and interviewed many and said it will be all over national Television there. Also one the TV stations interviewed some for the evening news tonight plus the plain dealer. God directs our paths and connections which doubled today by His Grace.
