Conservatives were right to take chances in states like Alaksa and Utah. It would not be a good idea to take a chance in Delaware, where Obama remains popular.
Delaware must be a socialist state.
It’s not nice to point out on this forum that O’Donnell can’t win that seat.
Just like dealing with teenagers.
Lesson I’ve learned the hard way: Though you may hold your nose and vote for a RINO, the stink never goes away.
The problem though is this, how often will Castle actually vote with the Republicans? judging from his record? he’s not very different than Coons.
This race looked quite a bit different in July polling. One poll does not determine the whole race. As was posted yesterday, McCain had a solid lead on Obama at this time in 2008. That seemed to change in the 60 days following.
Our party needs to pick our best candidates. If voting for a 70 year old leftist is the best choice for our party, then we will decide that during the primary. Adding a guy with a Republican name who only will cause massive trouble for us later may not be the best choice. We shall see. I for one learned my lesson in recent years that sometimes the short term benefit of voting for a non-conservative Republican cause us a lot more trouble in the long run as our agenda gets watered down. Charlie Crist, Ahnold, and slew of other demonstrate this belief. Guys like Scott Brown are great picks for the northeast. They are with us 70% of the time and only occasionally go against us. Mike Castle is a leftist. We have to decide if a one vote gain in the Senate is worth a lot of heartburn later.
30 days ago, before the multi million RNC directed smear job started, O’Donnel and Coons were tied in this SAME poll. If they can move the polls that much in 30 days, they can move them back the same way in 45 AFTER the primary.
Rather then spend all their time cheer-leading for the next Specter-Jeffords-Chaffe traitor in waiting, they should be getting behind the only real Republican in this race.
There are those who refuse to vote for anything other than a "true" conservative, and as a result, lose most of the time.
Then there are the "Reagan conservatives", that realize that getting someone who will vote your side 60-80% of the time elected is more important than voting for a "true conservative" who can't win and getting a Dem elected who will vote against your side 95% of the time...
I agree. Castle would be with us atleast 50% of the time (and probably more if the Republicans are in the majority). Coons would vote with us 0% of the time. People need to think about how important the Senate majority leadership is and how important majority control of the committees are. Healthcare, cap n trade, financial regulation, card check, and all the other socialist schemes of the Rats would never even make it to the Senate floor under Republican leadership!
I understand that but if he’s the 51st Republican we can’t afford to lose that seat.
When I heard the IL-style machinations behind the scenes in Delaware, I find it not only right to defeat Castle, but an absolute moral imperative.
It not nice on this forum to state your opinion as if it were fact.
45 days ago in this SAME poll you so worship O'Donnell and Coon were tied.
So rather then mindlessly worship a single poll that just happens to validate your opinions, you RINObots might try actually prying you minds open to look at the inconvenient facts here.
Castle is a Jeffords-Chaffe-Specter-Suzzafasa-Crist traitor in waiting.
It utterly idiotic for the RNC drones to throw away a perfectly winnable seat just because they want to reward one of their OLD boy uber RINOs with a promotion
The only problem with your scenario is that what they say about O’Donnell is true. She’s ethically challenged and the Dems will beat her to death with it in the general election.
In keeping with your Reagan theme, I want BOLD colors, not pale pastels.
You don't have any evidence of this, so why do you keep repeating it?
Castle is a Jeffords-Crist-Sucaffza-Specter traitor in waiting. Utterly moronic for the RNC to throw away a perfectly winnable seat out of their habitual need to reward the oldest RINO party member on the list.
Have you people learned NOTHING from the NY 23 debacle? From the Specter defection? From the 2008 McCain disaster?
Just because some guy is the "next guy on this list" is NO reason to promote him.
This was a perfectly winnable seat BEFORE the RNC decided to gunk up the works.
