Protesters on Tuesday night pelted a police station with eggs, rocks and bottles despite Police Chief Charlie Beck's plea for calm earlier in the day and his promise to thoroughly investigate an officer's fatal shooting of a Guatemalan immigrant wielding a knife.
At a late-afternoon news conference, Beck said only 40 seconds went by between the time officers made contact with Manuel Jamines on Sunday and the moment an officer shot him twice.
The shooting prompted demonstrations Monday near MacArthur Park, a densely packed neighborhood west of downtown populated with recent immigrants from Central America. Four people were arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor inciting a riot, and others threw rocks and bottles at police, slightly injuring three officers, Officer Bruce Borihanh said.
The protest gained steam again Tuesday night, when about 100 people took their complaints to the Rampart police station near downtown Los Angeles, about two blocks from where Jamines died, said Lt. Andrew Neiman.

TRE!
10 cops throwing buckshot back would probably stop that.
I'm sure that type of overreaction is what set the crowd off in the first place.
Hambuger flippers are DANGEROUS! Try boarding a fly with one in your suitcase! ;-)
Yeah I know, we should all just get along. Let them flame the police station and things will automatically get better for everybody.
Update -LA Times:
“Police fire at least 2 volleys of non-lethal projectiles during protest over police shooting” [Updated]
Remember when the media invented the term ‘suicide by cop’? It was over a guy pointing a screwdriver at 15 or so cops, who knew full well it wasn’t a gun, and they were in no danger.
I understand there is so much rabble rousing over police crime its hard to take any allegations seriously, but the cops are doing stuff that is just plain bad alot of times.
I'm not saying that, all I am saying is that so many times so few people realize the causality of cause and effect...

Its all in the name of justification of deadly force for lesser and lesser crimes. Once upon a time you have to posses a weapon and threaten them with said weapon before you were shot. Once upon a time cops would only draw down on you if you were committing a felony.
Once upon a time, excessive force complaints were rare and usually ended up being justified.
But today you have cops who will taze you for talking back, cops who refuse admit they are wrong in the face of overwhelming evidence.
Cops who will kill you simply because you could of had a weapon and its all justified because the cops tells some judge he/she thought you were reaching for a concealed weapon, notwithstanding the fact that no weapon was recovered.
Cops are killing folks for what amounts to misdemeanor crimes. Crimes that don’t even carry the penalty of jail time, just fines of less than $1,000... and probation or community service.
Or in the case of one recent Tennessee police shooting that’s still under investigation, a cop shot at a man 6 times, the man was wanted on a warrant for failure to complete his court ordered community service... Oh yeah, in that shooting the cop missed the man all six times, but hit his partner in his bullet proof vest.

Has the looting started yet?
Good point.
Oh,my goodness!
“Protest” indeed. It’s more like a mini-riot. And Surprise! the RCP is heavily involved this time, as well, just like in 1992.
It’s amazing what minor incidents in LA, makes big news out in places like New Mexico....lol
Then the inner cities wondered why no one wanted to do business in those areas....gee all the business's were owned by bigots for not building and letting the locals burn them out again....
