MILWAUKEE – A combative President Barack Obama rolled out a long-term jobs program Monday that will exceed $50 billion to rebuild roads, railways and runways, and coupled it with a blunt campaign-season assault on Republicans for causing Americans' hard economic times.
GOP leaders instantly assailed Obama's proposal, which is also likely to be met with reluctance by many Democrats to approve additional spending and higher federal deficits just weeks before elections that will determine control of Congress.
That means the plan has low odds of becoming law this year. Administration officials said that even quick congressional approval would not produce jobs until sometime next year, raising questions about what, if any, pre-election impact it would have beyond showing job-hungry voters that the White House is trying to ease unemployment.

So Obama wanst men and women who have lost their jobs to go digging ditches and repave highways? I’d love to hear him defend this at a townhall meeting in front of average men and women who have lost their jobs and get their reaction.
I’m just asking, wouldn’t a stimulus be more effective if the money went towards paying off everyone’s credit card debt instead of going towards shovel ready jobs?

Just watched the video. Looks like he remove the gray hair coloring and went back to his normal hair color. I guess their internal polling showed that the gray hair look wasn’t working.
More government spending of money we don’t have? This is his new idea?
Don’t they usually repair roads anyway? How is this a stimulus? How much of this is pre-election union-bribing?

Someone needs to produce a chart showing what % of the working population these types of jobs represent versus
the types of jobs lost by the unemployed.
If you ever find that ‘tax incentive’ that sends jobs overseas, let me know what it is!
No one has ever found it yet. We still maintain our global manufacturing percentage but we have innovated to use less workers.

Me thinks Rham and Co. are coaching the “Nutty Messiah” into throwing all of the Dems under the bus in the hopes that a Republican majority will give them 2 years of blame-game cover. Then they believe they can pull out the old save the country mantra for another 4 year go.

I’ve been finding a few things like T shirts made in other countries, besides china. They are usually better quality.
America is about innovation and creativity. What we need is for the government on every level to get out of the way and stop taxing success. And take all that grant/bribe money and use it for highways,roads and bridges.
I would love like nothing else for someone to post the CLINRON ERA housing bill the next time Obama says the GOP put us in the ditch and they saved us.
None of them trust me are good and wholesome people in DC but the dems destroyed us letting people making 5 dollars an hour buy 600K homes.All under the guise of equality and minority pumping.
