McCain embraces the GOP's right (McCain, Graham want to lead Tea Party)
Politico ^ | 2010-09-05 | Meredith Shiner

Has John McCain "sold his soul" to win re-election?

It's a question that briefly flustered the self-ascribed maverick and 2008 presidential nominee when asked Sunday morning by Chris Wallace of Fox News - but it's also an accusation McCain, who defended having changed his position on several issues, is not alone in having to answer.

(snip)

McCain, along with South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham, called Sunday for a new "Contract with America," Newt Gingrich's political blueprint that helped give Congress back to the GOP in 1994.

But both senators - who once made their marks in Congress by seeking middle ground on hot-button policy issues like immigration and energy - seem to have shifted further to the right to make their case. McCain, who's seeking a fifth term in November, recently beat back a primary challenge from the right from former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.

McCain Graham want to lead Tea Party

McCain Graham want to PRE-EMPT Tea Party

These two bear a lot of responsibility for the horrible state of affairs we have today.

Their opportunity to fight creeping socialism was when it was still creeping and hadn't firmly taken root. Now that Obama and the democrats have thrown away the constitution entirely, we the people have said ENOUGH! The Tea Party train is leaving the station and these two Obama enablers want to jump on board.

They both have had ample opportunity to do their jobs and keep their oaths to uphold the constitution and both have been miserable failures.

If they had an ounce of decency remaining both would resign and quietly leave the scene of the disaster they helped cause.

They'll get shocked by the likes of Joe Miller and Rand Paul. Joe Miller has leadership written all over him.

That's so good! I haven't seen Miller speaking yet (have heard Rand Paul a lot and of course I like him :0)

I can't stomach McC so am only watching FNS here and there, too much of him on. Veering off-topic, I *have* caught some really good specials from GB and SH lately though.... with some good folks on those shows.

These two contemptable uber-RINOs are just trying to get in front of the conservative locomotive known as the Tea Party that is going to sweep into Washington following the November election. They have as about as much in common with the Tea Party as a Obama does. It has been noted that, of course, the old RINO hacks like Graham and McCain will attempt to subsume the Tea Party candidates that end up being elected to the House and Senate. That cannot be allowed to happen. Conservatives must make it crystal clear to candidates running with the Tea Party endorsement that allowing themselves to be compromised by the likes of McCain and Graham is political suicide.

LOL

Good point!

However, as a former officer of the Navy, McLame should understand that one does NOT give aid and comfort to the enemy. In his dealings with Kennedy and Feingold, he has done exactly that.

Hence, my quandary.

A couple of scumbags figuring out how to survive in politics is nothing to get excited about.

"Hence, my quandary."

There should be no quandry at this point.

LOL - I’m told I have the ability to “find the cloud for every silver lining.”

Anyway, if you’d like to see some examples of how the government ignores their Constitutions (and people DEFEND their doing so) I think you’ll find from here on in this thread to be interesting/enlightening:

Well thats an odd thing to say about Beck

I dont think the Tea Parties will let Beck anywhere near them

Because Beck said on his Sept 1 show ...

“Tea party protesters should “model yourself after what happened on 8/28” or “you’re a fool”

Do you really thing any self respecting Tea Partier is going to stand still for that ???

Again....a good point. Flip a coin as to which one of these two turds is the more contemptible.....it’ll likely land on it’s edge.

Joe Miller ROCKS! He told CNN that obama is bad for our nation, and the host almost went into shock, so he asked Miller to explain and explain he did! If I find the link, I’ll send it to you in FR mail.

Sharky might have the link. :)
