Has John McCain "sold his soul" to win re-election?
It's a question that briefly flustered the self-ascribed maverick and 2008 presidential nominee when asked Sunday morning by Chris Wallace of Fox News - but it's also an accusation McCain, who defended having changed his position on several issues, is not alone in having to answer.
(snip)
McCain, along with South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham, called Sunday for a new "Contract with America," Newt Gingrich's political blueprint that helped give Congress back to the GOP in 1994.
But both senators - who once made their marks in Congress by seeking middle ground on hot-button policy issues like immigration and energy - seem to have shifted further to the right to make their case. McCain, who's seeking a fifth term in November, recently beat back a primary challenge from the right from former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.

McCain is going to have to fight Beck to be the profit of the Tea Party
To: rabscuttle385
Many of us here predicted that RINO’s would co-op the Tea Party movement. Looks like that is about to happen.
The SC Tea Party opened the door when they agreed to meet with Sweet Lindsey. Why they would want to do that is beyond me.
I thought Sweet Lindsey was already an active member of a moderate group...(The Gang of 14 Gangsters).
That gang was responsible for many good Bush nominee’s being thrown overboard. i.e. Estrada, Pickering etc.

Wow..... what hypocrites. What a joke. Then all we’re doing, it seems, is flipping the same coin in the fall. These RINOS/closet leftists just take us to one-world-government a little more slowly than Hussein and the open leftists do. Everyone can go back to sleep and the country’s collapse will proceed as planned.
To: rabscuttle385
Meredith Shiner’s article says nothing about either of them wanting to “lead” the Tea Party, as though the Tea Party was one entity or that it were possible for one or two persons to lead it.

Ok, we're moving deeper into the twilight zone; and if you look to your right you will see the alternate reality where Putin is President of America rather than Obama... simply because Putin loves America more than Obama does.
