A Colorado high school student wants an explanation from school officials after reportedly being told by security guards to remove American flags from his truck because they might make other students uncomfortable.
Jeremy Stoppel told Denver's KMGH-TV he received a ticket at Northglenn High School last Thursday for squealing his tires and subsequently had his parking lot pass suspended for two weeks. But he also was told by a campus security guard to remove two U.S. flags -- each 3-by-5 feet -- from the bed of his pickup truck.
"She said I should take my flags down. She said this is a school that focuses on diversity and she doesn't want anyone to feel uncomfortable," Stoppel told KMGH-TV. "How do you suppose anyone would feel uncomfortable in America with an American flag? That's where I'm confused."
Stoppel said he began flying the flags last week and wants to keep them for the upcoming 9/11 anniversary in honor of his cousin who is serving in the Navy. Stoppel and his father now want an apology from the security supervisor.
"To me, she's just threatening him, hoping that she can just bully him so he'll just take 'em down and just put his tail between his legs and say, 'I'm done. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry,' Dan Stoppel told the station. "And that's just not gonna happen."

And so is the US. A nation and people determined to destroy itself.
Permit me a few thoughts on the issue of tolerance. This post is not intended as a systematic treatise on tolerance. Rather just some thoughts on a frequently misunderstood concept that some have called the only virtue left in our neo-pagan society.
The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy defines Tolerance and toleration:
Toleration from the Latin tolerare: to put up with, countenance or suffer generally refers to the conditional acceptance of or non-interference with beliefs, actions or practices that one considers to be wrong but still tolerable, such that they should not be prohibited or constrained. [1]
It goes on to make a distinction that is often lost today:
[I]t is essential for the concept of toleration that the tolerated beliefs or practices are considered to be objectionable and in an important sense wrong or bad. If this objection component (cf. King 1976, 44-54) is missing, we do not speak of toleration but of indifference or affirmation. [2]
In effect tolerance involves putting up with something we consider wrong or displeasing but not so wrong that we must move to constrain it. Tolerance does NOT mean we approve of something as good. This essential point is often glossed over by those who often demand that tolerance mean approval, and that to disapprove of something makes one intolerant.
…
I don't think that's what the leftists have in mind…
If we were to employ the very successful Alinsky tactics of the Left in this situation, we would make this security guard a household name with the most intense ridicule imaginable - make it go viral, You-tube, radio, blogs, the whole bit. We would make it so that every left-wing idiot in the country would be terrified of pulling a stunt like this ever again.
Put up the Stars and Bars.
Maybe the “uncomfortable” students will go back to Mexico.....
Excellent! (I missed that posting yesterday).
Sometimes wit is the mightiest weapon.
Wht country is this? It sure isn’t America.
Why the hell does anyone have to defend flying the American flag in America??????
No stupid "I misspoke" accepted.
No phony-baloney pseudo-apology ("I'm sorry if anyone was offended") accepted.
precisely, being a 135 lb. runt thru most of high school I chose my weapons well and my arguements even better.
Then the Army joined me.
Because the marxists/socialists/libs are on the loose and we need to corral them pronto.
Corral that is used outside the meat packing plant for sure.

You beat me.
They wouldn’t like us down here. Teenage boys like to fly the Confederate Stars and Bars in the bed of their pickup trucks and they fly the big ones. Nobody makes a peep; not even the school. They even hang them in their bedrooms for curtains! It’s not uncommon to see them with a 3X5 Confederate and a 3X5 American flag flying together in the bed of the truck.
Another little Hitler. Probably why she is a security guard, the chance to boss someone around. Why do I envision short hair?
They need to be backed down at every turn.
“what nationality would said “security” guard be?”
Democrate.
A name, we need the name of the security supervisor. We need to expose her. She must not be allowed to hide and deliver this kind of attack.
As a sidebar, squealing tires of pick-up trucks is a right of passage for American teenage boys. They need to be warned if the are recklessly endangering others and cautioned about that.
We have evolved to an unrealistic position of having to debate what is right and wrong because we have abandoned our common standards and traditions of what is acceptable... it has all become acceptable so it is all unacceptable. The idea that, “we don’t do things like that here” is no longer present. This is the United States, we fly that flag here and it is unreasonable and unacceptable to fly any other here. In the United States we support this country and the principles it is based on and we stick to those principles. If we don’t, we no longer have our own identity. We fly the flags of other nations and groups in their own nation and we respect that right but we don’t do it here.
The segregation that allowed people to believe differently than others but still coexist has gone. As I think about this I think about Babel but it is an incomplete thought.
