Obamacare Is Here to Stay

Hugh Hewitt interviewed Senate minority leader John Boehner a few days ago, and could not get Boehner to commit to a rapid legislative agenda to repeal and reverse the democrat’s leftist legislative cramdown after the midterms in November. Boehner hemmed and hawed, sounding every bit like the establishment inside-the-beltway career politicians that got us into the dire economic mess that we’re in now.

To make matters worse, Bill Kristol related to Hewitt on yesterday’s podcast that he asked a “high-ranking GOP leader” what their plans were, what they intended to do should the GOP take control of one or both Houses of Congress, and this unnamed source said that they were trying to get members to sign off on a “No Earmarks” pledge, but said it was very tough going. Kristol was incredulous.

In this election year, with this blatantly obvious tidal wave of resentment and outright anger rushing toward establishment politicians (and quasi-socialist redistributionist Democrats), there are not enough Republican lawmakers with the backbone and moral courage to sign a pledge banning pork barrel spending?

Agreed. “Unnamed sources” is a cop-out unless it has to do with national security and you work for the CIA. Damn! I am so tired of this crap that I want to spit. But instead I think I will just go and have another stiff drink and watch some cartoons!

The triumph of hope over experience. Anyone who thinks the GOP is going to ride in and play dragon slayer is deluded. They're just going to want to know when the Waygu will be served.

Mitt Romney (hiding somewhere):
”Now that my Romneycare (funded 60% by US taxpayers)
is being pushed by my chosen (RINO) Republicans,
a little self examination is in order.
You may want to ask yourself 'if I had spent my time promoting
RomneyCare and Mitt Romney, could not
I have today garnered more support
of both Obama and Romney?'
. Now go play with your bananas.“

Nice cartoon, only the left should have shown a slide and the right a mouse maze.

Yup.

Too much information to the contrary.

I think Boehner will become the Speaker of the House. So, he voted for TARP? Most of them did and did so according to the false facts given them by Hank Paulson & Company. Our president and all panicked and didn’t take the time to think this thing through before granting a bailout. McCain voted for it, and so did zero and Biden, but, no one,and I mean NO ONE mentions the fact that those 2 were also part of it. Nope, let’s beat up the Republicans. They were all deceived!

I didn’t like how Eric Cantor talked to Laura I on the BOR show last week, I am pretty sure she was trying to tie him down to the same thing and I was not impressed. Turned me off.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Republican faction of the Ruling Class is getting ready to screw us again.

Sorry, but who says Boehner has to be the Majority Leader? here’s hoping Republicans come to their sense and make Michelle Bachman the Majority Leader.

Gov Palin has more clarity, guts, and “being there”
in any hangnail she might have than the entire GOP
jellyfish/clownfish/RINOfish gaggle of supplicants
in Congress.

On the national level, have they ever really rolled back any of this stuff?

Yes, once. Under president Reagan (!!) Congress passed and he signed a prescription drug plan for Medicare beneficiaties. It was financed in a horribly expensive and oppressive way that caused its beneficiaries to revolt and Congress repealed it. ObamaCare is equally, or more, unpopular, meaning we have a decent shot at repealing it.

I heard the interview and this report is NOT true. What he said, is what he has been saying. A set of prinicples will be released after Labor day. We shall then see what at least some GOP candidates are committing to.

I don’t think your reforms are the best. I think the best the government can do for health care would be:

1. Portability
2. Pre-existing conditions MUST be covered with some form of plan (it can cost more)
3. Free interstate insurance sales allowed
4. Cap on medical malpractice damages (having the ability to sue keeps our health care top notch - I lived in another country for 10 years - trust me on this one!)

Really, more free market in the health insurance world would be better than less. Certainly a lot better than the 1000+ page monstrosity of control Obama wrought.

“Our president and all panicked and didn’t take the time to think “

This is not what they are put into position to do and truly had no power to do so anyway. The Federal Government does not have the power to do so if we only return to the Constitution. We also have ourselves to blame because we have allowed it to go this far.

The Repub’s better take warning and do more than just sit on their hands (games as usually) if they are given the chance as it looks like they will be given.

Every Republican in my area has been running on a campaign of repealing Obamacare. If the House Minority Leader is about to cut them off at the knees then they deserve to know about it.
