As for his interviews, most people he approached in Palin's hometown were willing to speak, but he said there was what he calls an "undercurrent of fear."
"People — I don't know if they're afraid of shadows or whether there's something real there — she's no longer in a position of governmental influence but there are people up there who are scared to death to talk because if Sarah ever found out they talked, oh, something terrible would happen to them," he said.

I suspect besides emails, way to many folks told him they respect Sarah. And I suspect way too meny folks told him to pack his dirty things and get lost. That stalking a celebrity for writing some kind of expose and making some money from it is genuinely unkind and dirty.
I also suspect he could find no filthy rags in her closet to throw in the faces of tea party folk.
And I suspect he is very afraid of an Alaskan winter, He is, after all, a male liberal.
Sarah should turn the tables and write about liberal men who wet their pants at the very sight of a real two legged mama grizzly and her cubs.
Well said. For some reason a distant bell rang here. I went back to Wikipedia and put in the name Jack London. A California man, born circa 1876. died 1916. Now he was a journalist and author. Sure he was socialistic and angry at the system, but then had reason to be.
Society kinder to weaker souls today in many ways. He went up to Alaska and actually took part in the gold rush. This you will probably know. The incredible adventures of this journalist, running 'em (gold miners) up the river in a hand built raft to the start of the trail, is something!. His books "Call of the Wild" and "White Fang" are epics.

In Sarah, such traits as Hillary has publicly exhibited, and which are thoroughly documented by sources who are named, are unacceptable, though they aren’t exactly cited as proof that she’s not qualified to run for president. In Hillary, though, they are presidential.

You are correct. The locals know this guy's sole purpose in talking to them is to "get something" on Palin. They're not afraid. What he's calling "fear" is simply his perception and projection of the distrust, cautiousness and loathing they actually feel towards him, but are too polite to tell him to his face.
I really imagine she'd be very considerate towards those that protect her...like Reagan, who stayed in DC for Christmas so his agents could be near family. That is such a Sarah thing to do. :)

I did not know he was a journalist as well and am glad to know this. Nor did I know ( or I have forgotten ) that he took actual part in a gold rush.
