"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." According media reports, this quote keeping Obama company on his wheat-colored carpet is from King.
Except it's not a King quote. The words belong to a long-gone Bostonian champion of social progress. His roots in the republic ran so deep that his grandfather commanded the Minutemen at the Battle of Lexington.
For the record, Theodore Parker is your man, President Obama. Unless you're fascinated by antebellum American reformers, you may not know of the lyrically gifted Parker, an abolitionist, Unitarian minister and Transcendentalist thinker who foresaw the end of slavery, though he did not live to see emancipation. He died at age 49 in 1860, on the eve of the Civil War.
A century later, during the civil rights movement, King, an admirer of Parker, quoted the Bostonian's lofty prophecy during marches and speeches.
Apparently, Obama himself believed the quotation to be from King. Stiehm writes:
My investigation into this error led me to David Remnick's biography of Obama, "The Bridge," published this year. Early in the narrative, Remnick, the editor of the New Yorker, presents this as "Barack Obama's favorite quotation." It appears that neither Remnick nor Obama has traced the language to its true source.
The error perfectly encapsulates the shallowness of Barack Obama's intellect, and his lack of rigor. Obama is a man who accumulated academic credentials while giving no evidence whatsoever of achieving any depth. He was the only president of the Harvard Law Review to graduate without penning a signed article in that esteemed journal. His academic transcripts remain under lock and key, as do his academic papers.

It's all part of their revisionist view of history. How could they not misquote, fail to properly identify sources, and otherwise make a mess of anything related to history when literally thousands of them have built their entire lives around revising what can be factually proven to fit with what they wish had happened or what they "feel" should have happend and terefore should be interpreted differently?
Liars always lie, that's what they do. Sooner or later, they get caught in their own web of lies because they don't know how to look for the truth any longer. If they ever did.
Hmmm...
Did he really get the quote wrong...or did he just..”change” it more to his liking.
The smartest president in history doesn’t know how many states there are. He is also so smart that he hasn’t been able to convince a large portion of the electorate that he was born in the US and that is a Christian. He also can’t speak without a teleprompter. Maybe he isn’t that smart?
He’s not even smart enough to defer to those who know what they’re doing. He’s an embarrassment.
Here's an appropriate rug for the boy-emperor."
Here’s the full actual quote, according to one online source:
Look at the facts of the world. You see a continual and progressive triumph of the right. I do not pretend to understand the moral universe; the arc is a long one, my eye reaches but little ways; I cannot calculate the curve and complete the figure by the experience of sight; I can divine it by conscience. And from what I see I am sure it bends towards justice. Things refuse to be mismanaged long.

now there’s another sense in which is is accurate to say....
“OBAMA, You lie like a rug!”
Ask not what your rug maker can do for you...
Smart yes, that Kenyan average 72 IQ is plainly visible here.
It’s about Martin Luther King Jr.? Then the criticism must be racist. And it’s Obama who ordered the rug? Then definitely any critic of this is a racist.
Remember, Romney saw King and his dad walking down a street.
Historical revision is ofthen the only clear path for Progress, which is why so many Progressives do it.
Every time I see him, he’s slurping on a vanilla ice cream cone? What no ice cream in his holy land, Mecca? Smartest President, now that’s a laugh. He couldn’t pour piss out of a boot, with a hole in the toe, and the directions on the heel.
Ha! Well, that certainly puts a different spin on his favorite saying, considering. Mismanaged could best be the description of this administration In a strange way, it cheers me some.
Yes, I saw hope in that as well!
The smartest man in the world and the greatest peace keeper in the Oval Office, the smartest woman in the world as Secretary of State ... what could possibly go wrong?
He died at age 49 in 1860, on the eve of the Civil War.
hmmm no comment
The price of Michelle's size 17 shoes $500.
The price of Hillary's three pant suits $300.
The price of Obama’s redecorating the Oval office including new prayer rug. $800,000
The Price of Pelosi and Reid getting their BUTS kicked out of office in two months: PRICELESS!
It all comes down to what seems to be a real lack of judgement and wisdom.
Is that plagiarism ?Or simple ignorance ?
