I read the report all the way through. That sounds like an impressive record for Rasmussen. The scary part is the “somewhat approve” is still 46%. Actually, that’s very scary.

The margin of error in these polls is very large. Each day’s numbers don’t mean too much. The general trend means more.
Also, this poll is rather silly. We have no idea why those polled approve or disapprove of Obama. Much of the disapproval may come from lefties who want an even faster conversion to Marxism. Also, we have no idea how many people say they approve of Obama simply because they do not want to say something that may be taken as racist.
A much better approach would be to compare Obama to several potential GOP nominees and ask who is preferred for 2012.
It’s you! You need to understand what a rolling average is and how the data sets can differ.
and 24% do so strongly? Are these “voters” or just your run of the mill adults?

To my untrained eye, Total Approve is in a shallow downtrend with high volatility, Strong Approve is steady sideways with low volatility, Strong Disapprove has high volatility and appears to have reversed a steady uptrend.

Don’t forget that 13% of the population is Black, and they still strongly support Obummer, though this is tapering a tad. That’s a pretty strong base of support. The rest are leftist ideologues, welfare/union hard-cases, and a few hopey-changey rose-colored glass dim(wit)s thrown in.
I doubt he will ever go much below 40% because of that. That’s why class and race baiting works so well with dims.

If the GOP were smart, they start a Barack Obama Channel and play Barack all the time. But pointing out all the lies, maybe laughing at certain whoppers, etc. “Summer of Recovery” clips couldbe priceless. Showing him on vacation spending millions and then showing unemployment numbers tick up...
