Obamas in Kennedy-like Oval Office Photo
Telegraph ^ | September 2, 2010 | Tom Leonard

As Barack Obama looks through papers, his eight-year-old daughter, Sasha, spies on him from behind a sofa.

The photograph, released by the White House, was taken by Peter Souza, whose brief is to document the Obama presidency.

Mr Obama has said that one of the greatest benefits of working in the White House is having his family living in the same building. Despite its spontaneous feel, the image evokes obvious – and possibly intentional - comparisons with famous pictures of a three-year-old John F Kennedy Jr playing under the same desk as his father sat working at it.

The photographs were taken a month before President Kennedy's assassination in November 1963.

Earlier this year, the White House released pictures showing Mr Obama, watched on by Caroline Kennedy, peering into the same section of the desk from which her young brother looked out 46 years ago.

I knew Jack Kennedy. I knew Jack Kennedy as an able, accomplished Senator. I knew Jack Kennedy as my president. And you, sir, 0, are no Jack Kennedy.

The media has no shame, no shame at all. They make outrageously brazen comparisons between President Kennedy and 0, the implication of O and Jack Kennedy as equals, through mere iconic imagery.

Hey everyone! Were you not aware we're living through the romantic age of yesteryear, in special, privileged times..... in the age of Obamalot, as the press would like us to believe.

The problem being, we all know how that ended.

Maybe it's obvious to some people. To me, it looks like a still from a Lifetime Movie Of The Week where a girl has to hide from her abusive father.

Anyway, that pic was taken a long, long time ago. You can tell, because the president is sitting behind his desk and not playing golf.

I wonder how many “takes” to get this picture just right? Obviously it was “staged” for the camera.

You’re right it was taken quite a while back. It was when Obama first took office. An obvious set up. Pathetic.

Whenever it was taken it was before they took out the good furniture and redecorated it to reflect our status as a second rate country.

Hard to believe they’ve been vacationing, remodelled and now doing another vacation. He can’t vacation the problems away. I couldn’t believe how grey his hair appeared this morning after only 18 months.

Were the Kennedys all that romantic, or was it something portrayed to us by the media? Looking through a Cronkite Camera might have something to do with our perception. The Dan Rather camera must have had a certain ‘bent’ to it, no?

Rather shameful. And not exactly novel. She is more than twice as old, and about 3 times the size “little John” was at the time. The cuteness has been lost in translation. Shame on the father.

Nonetheless, there are those in our society who will adore it, never comprehending it was staged. It is indeed a sign of desperation. Since here we have the father playfully pretending with his daughter everything is ok. When nothing could be further from the truth. He is sinfully betraying her as he is betraying the nation.

Meantime, we must continue to work toward this marxist’s impeachment for subverting our Constitution. As well as his crimes of making apology to the (muslim) world for America. Which is treasonous. As well as putting our troops in harms way, while tying both their hands behind their backs. Also Treasonous.

And the rug in the photo is the rug he just had removed.
That is the rug Laura Bush picked out

President 0bama and his staff need to think of another fake folksy idea for his photographers to allegedly capture..
The imagery of an innocent child playing in the Oval Office is...so 1963...and the copycat effort is evident.

His hair has grayed. He has lost weight. His eyes have a hollow look to them. His demeanor is that of a person who has lost his interest in the subject at hand. He is running away from his job that requires that he “work it”, by taking back to back vacations.

The man is not well.

I agree, he’s looking frail these days, and his heart definitely doesn’t seem in it.

About the photo... at least the Kennedy photo seemed spontaneous, whether it was or not. This one looks staged, not cute, and a bit strange.

You can tell the photo was staged because Obama has papers on his desk.
