(Reuters) - President Barack Obama will hold a press conference on Friday, September 10, the White House said on Thursday.
It also said in a statement that he would make two trips next week to talk about the economy, visiting Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Monday and Cleveland, Ohio on Wednesday.
Obama has been criticized in some quarters for holding relatively few press conferences, and for taking a limited number of questions when he faces the media.
His last extensive question-and-answer session with reporters was at the Toronto Group of 20 summit in June. But he has not held a full-blown, prime time press conference in the White House's stately East Room in over a year.

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
He’s resigning?
Awesome!!
So?
My Question:
Mr. President, Do you now admit that everything your adminisatration has implemented has been a complete and utter FAILURE???
“We were on the scene of this latest Republican oil rig disaster and on the job, fixing this disaster from “day minus one’.....er.....I mean from ‘day one’...yeah, that’s it.”
Bet he’s going to find a way to extend the Bush tax cuts...without really extending them. He will be “perfectly clear” and we should “make no mistake” about this.
Where from? Ben and Jerry’s? Haagen Daaz? Baskin Robbins?
Time to submit your questions so you can be “randomly” chosen. We’re not that stupid.

Obama visit won’t include Feingold
By Don Walker of the Journal Sentinel
Sept. 2, 2010 9:40 a.m. | When President Barack Obama visits Milwaukee on Labor Day to talk to working families and members of dozens of labor unions, one prominent politician won’t be there.
A Labor Day schedule put out by the staff of U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) indicates that, while Feingold will be in Milwaukee earlier in the day for a Milwaukee Laborfest Pre-Parade on Monday morning, he will not be in town when Obama is expected to arrive.
Obama’s schedule for the day has not been released, but Laborfest will be open from noon to 7 p.m. at the Maier Festival Grounds.
Feingold has two other Labor Day appearances in Janesville, his hometown, and Kenosha. Both cities have strong labor union ties.
When Obama was in Menomonee Falls and Milwaukee last month, Feingold did greet the president in Milwaukee and stayed with him the entire day.
This was agreed to only if the press corps agreed to read WH-prepared questions off a newly installed teleprompter designed just for them.
He hasn’t “explained” things enough - that’s why 60-70% of the population is pi$$ed off. We are just too stupid.
Then he will need another vacation after that.
Where did you see that? Do you have a source? The article said:
The White House did not spell out what format the president's press conference next week would take.
That may be cheaper than wearing out a fleet of airplanes. I have been spring loaded to the PO position since the teat suckers and los negroes and white fools elected this fool. I wouldn't have hired him as an assistant bar manager in one of our hotels...and the dumba$$es in America hired him as President of my country.
