John McCain shocked voters and pundits alike by picking Sarah Palin as a running mate in 2008, and McCain's daughter reveals the choice caused plenty of behind-the-scenes drama too.
In her new book "Dirty Sexy Politics," Meghan McCain says Palin brought "stress, drama, complications, panic and loads of uncertainty" to the campaign.
"She was not just an overnight success or even a political Cinderella story," McCain writes in an excerpt obtained by ABC News. "She was a sudden, freakishly huge, full-fledged phenomenon. It seemed too much. And it seemed too easy."
Speaking out about the former Alaska Gov. for the first time, McCain admits she once wondered if her father's loss "was Sarah Palin's fault."
She ultimately decided Palin wasn't responsible for John McCain's failure to win the presidency.
"I do clearly state at the end that we did not lose because of her, and I'm speaking out now because I do have conflicting feelings about her," McCain said Tuesday on ABC's Good Morning America. "She brought so much momentum and enthusiasm to the campaign."

"Sarah Palin. She was turning out to be somebody who leaves a wake of confusion and chaos - to the point of dizziness - wherever she went."
Though McCain now says there are a lot of things she does like about Palin, she stayed cagey on where her vote would lie if the former VP candidate runs for president in 2012.
"I really don't like these hypothetical questions...It depends on the situation," McCain told ABC. "It's going to be a very interesting election, no matter what happens."

“conflicted feelings” translates to she is jealous because Sarah was the “it” girl and the feminist Republican that Meggy wanted to be.
Bottomline - Meggy got fired and Sarah didn’t. They treated Sarah like crap and backstabbed her but they didn’t fire her because she was doing her job and doing it well. Meggy, not so much...

This is what happens when Idiots like Meghan and the McCain staff completely underestimated Sarah Palin and kept trying to make McCain look like he had more balls than she does. They just weren't prepared for the way crowds loved her authentically conservative messages. I won't even call McCain a RINO. At best, he's Democrat Lite.
I can't believe that McCain has not reigned in this princess. Or, could it be Meghan speaks for him.

Although Meghan gained astounding credibility by hanging out with "Tila Tequila," I still have trouble giving her Sarah bashing its due credence.
I think Meghan is describing herself and rather accurately too.

I’ve been critical of Sarah Palin (and taken some flak for it on this forum) but Meghan McCain is a two-faced little brat. When she was blogging the election, it was nothing but how FUN and DELIGHTFUL it was to have Sarah and her family on the bus. It was all giggles and girl talk and doing each other’s hair. Now Meghan is just that middle school girl who turns around and says, “Well, actually I was never really her friend. And by the way, she smells.”
Be honest Meghan - your the drama queen, and your goddamn father and his handpicked advisors lost the campaign. “The fundamentals of the economy are sound”! LOL, lost everything there.
