WASHINGTON - Fox News host Glenn Beck wore a bulletproof vest at his weekend rally, where he claimed "many, many miracles" had occurred - including a flyover of geese."I'm absolutely wearing a bulletproof vest," Beck said he told Alveda King, the niece of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., before the "Restore Honor" event at the Lincoln Memorial. He and other speakers risked their lives but "she decided not to wear it," Beck said of Alveda King, and now "she is a marked woman for standing on that step with me."

just noticing the times of posts, mine shows 3 minutes ahead of when I actually posted. It’s just now 12:03 and yours is at 12:06, wierd
Can't write a straight news piece without getting snarky.
In fact, he IS a potential target and in fact, if you actually LISTENED to what he talks about you'll find there is a lot of political ANALYSIS going on and NO "conspiracy theories".
now there’s a 6 minute difference, actual time vs. time shown of my last post...
Playing the Freud Card implies the Hate Card and leads up to the "unconsciously intolerant racist, bigot, homophobe and islamophobe" cards all at once. The Hate Card trumps all, of course.
No - it’s me too.
Is it just me or is Beck suffering from something of a Messiah complex?
It’s just you.
When I tuned in to watch him I noticed it right off. I was glad to see him practicing caution but thought that it was a pretty light vest - more useful for handgun projectiles than from rifle fire.
No matter - as someone else commented, he probably did it more out of consideration for his wife than out of any fear for his life.
“Beck often describes himself as a potential target in his conspiracy theories.”
Nevermind the stream of death threats from the unhinged left...
he’s to self depricating for a complex
Couldn’t agree with you more. I was hoping Glen would do something to protect himself from the looney left.
I also wish everyone would stop with the “running for President” stuff. For some, their mission is to bring things to light. Glen is doing a fabulous job of that. We need someone to keep our representatives under a microscope and hold them accountable.
I could care less whether he has a complex, to be honest. I appreciate what he's accomplished.
Good.
Segmented videos of the full event are available at http://www.watchglennbeck.com/restoringhonor/, and, in segment seven (7), for instance, at 20-21 seconds, you can see the marksman atop the right (facing the stage) "frame"...
You truly are ahead of your time.
(I'm too lazy to post-process the photo with reduced brightness and a "shadowing" filter and upload it for posting on FR -- but the vest is definitely visible in that image...)
The impact vest with its plates I wore in Iraq weighed about 30 pounds. Oh my aching back
Heck, I just thought he looked well fed. :)
Beck is no fool. He wore a vest but that would not have stopped a head shot. Still, with all those people I don’t think anyone would have gotten close enough for a shot—he had 500,000 guards that day.
I saw them. I tried to post the picture but the canopy can
seen.http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/ac122/Dianer0839/IMG_0327.jpg
