BOSTON - Massachusetts has banned cigarette lighters that look like guns, pens, lobster claws and other objects in an effort to cut down on accidental fires started by children. State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan said the lighters are attractive to children because they look like toys. The bill was sponsored by state Rep. Geraldo Alicea. The Charlton Democrat tells The Boston Globe he was urged by fire chiefs in his district to raise the issue.

Very succinct. Well said.

Now, how do we go about beating these idiots back into adulthood? I am really getting sick of them childishly sticking government guns in our faces every time they find a bogeyman to be afraid of.

The solution to “forcing” them into adulthood is to stop alleviating the consequences of their irresponsibility.

A man’s hunger is to his benefit. (Proverbs 16:25)

But, this comes back to what Williams said - are we (libs and cons) going to continue to fight for control of the federal government so that we can impose our will on the other? They seek to impose their controlling nanny state on us, and we seek to “impose” freedom and responsibility on them. Better to split at the state level and let the freeloaders go one place and the freedom lovers another.

Mississippi did the same thing beginning the 1st July. Just more laws to save the children. I am still wondering when Congress will fess up and direct the minting of pennies that aren't toxic to animals and children. One or two pennies ingested that were made after 1982 can kill a dog or a child if swallowed. Then again, if a kid swallows any heavy metal it will do the same..
