Generic Congressional Ballot: Republicans 45%, Democrats 39%
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 08/30/2010 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 08/30/2010 2:00:42 PM PDT by Tennessean4Bush

Republicans now hold a six-point lead over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% of Likely Voters would vote for their district's Republican congressional candidate, while 39% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent. The survey data was collected on the seven days ending Sunday, August 29, 2010.

The Republicans have been consistently ahead in the Generic Ballot every week for over a year, but this is the smallest advantage the party has held since mid-July..

The GOP edge hasn’t fallen below five points since the beginning of December and it peaked at twelve points two weeks ago. GOP support since June 2009 has ranged from 41% to 48%. Support for Democrats in the same period has run from 35% to 40%.

Rasmussen is showing himself to nothing but a huckster. Bye bye Scott, see you in late October when you “discover” that the democrats are going to get their heads handed to them.
LOL! I have been following these polls for 12 years, and have been following Rasmussen since he started. No other pollster has his integrity. And it is not even close. There is something that seems cyclical in his presidential polling that does not seem real, but I'd bet anything it is perplexing Scott 10 times more than you or me.

They were at 48 and 47 % the two weeks previous. That is close. Other pollsters, like Gallup, have them at or cracking 50%.

They're going to need a lot more New Black Panthers at the polls this time.

We need to dispatch video cameras to poll locations and u-stream the feed.

I now believe he is manipulating his sample groups to make a horse race out of this tsunmi!

I am not sure if it is going to be a tsunmi, but I'd be willing to bet alot of money that it will be a tsunami. It will not be a horse race, so we agree on that.

"We’re going to crush them..."

Yeah, I'd like to think we're going to pick up 75-80 seats. It feels like we should....that, and more.

However, don't mismiss the fact that there are a LOT of stupid people in this country and approximately 1/2 pay no taxes.

There's another 1/3 that get a government check directly.

No, a herculean effort will win us 60 House seats and another 7-8 Senate seats.

This battle will RAGE for at least another generation, and if we don't lose, two.
