New campaign aims to counter anti-Islam sentiment

A coalition of US Muslims launched a Web-based campaign Monday aimed at countering what they called a rising tide of anti-Islamic sentiment and to show themselves as Americans who love their country.

The group launched a website and online video featuring brief clips from American Muslims, including young children, with comments such as "I'm an American," and "I don't want to take over this country."

The campaign is in response to the controversy over plans to build an Islamic center near the site of the World Trade Center in New York destroyed in the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The group said it takes no position on the Ground Zero mosque itself, but wants to counter the anti-Muslim atmosphere stemming from the polemic.

"there is no way that this coalition could take a position on (on the New York mosque) because we are just a diverse coalition of ordinary Muslims."

"There is no organization behind this, there is no mosque that can take ownership of this. This is just the voice of American Muslims, plain and simple."

Hmm. They won't take a position on the GZ Mosque, because they are diverse and so can't speak for all Muslims, but then they tell us they can assure us that Muslims don't want to take over America, because they are the Voice of American Muslims.

Once again, Islam proves that logic is not its strong suit. Neither is honest good will, as far as I can see.

Bit like having a ad campaign in favor of cancer.

“Not all cancer is fatal!”

“I am a cancer cell. I don’t want you to die. I want you to live as long as possible so I can reproduce by the millions and take your body over.”

“Cancer is natural!”

They’re not evil, they’re just misunderstood. 9//11 was part of the misunderstanding.

Years ago I subscribed to the Washington Post weekly.
Then two weeks in a row they had about a ten page supplement espousing the wonderfulness of Saudi Arabia.
I canceled and have not read it since.

Until they stand up and say we are Americans too and we renounce Muslim extremist terrorism they can not be trusted. How many Muslim Americans stayed behind their locked doors on 9/!! and cheered the terrorists?

Ahmad added that "there is no way that this coalition could take a position on (on the New York mosque) because we are just a diverse coalition of ordinary Muslims."

.. and what would be the reaction if some other Americans claimed that they cannot take a position on something that a Christian Identity group is doing because "ah heck, golly gee.. we're just a group of ordinary Christians"?

The Islamists (political Islam and Sharia law advocates) even have a theme song.. it's called Taqiyya.. give a listen

Just a side-by-side reading of the ‘doctrins’ of our Constitution and Islam’s Sharia would show there is a huge societal disparity. Of course one would have to take very much more time to cull Sharia compared to our Constitution to deal with corresponding values.

"I don't want to take over this country."
Those are nuanced words. They're true words, to be sure, but very nuanced nonetheless.
Muslims don't want to "take over". That would indicate warfare and there is no way that this nation could be defeated in such a manner. Acts such as 9-11 are the only way in which battles can be fought. Battles, however, don't win wars. Even in the Middle East there is no open war because it's a given that it's a losing proposition. Other means to the end, like suicide bombings, are utilized.
No, Muslims want this nation to surrender itself to Islam in an act of submission so they're being quite truthful when they say they don't want to "take over".
The quicker people understand that the sooner they'll be able to combat it.
