The chairman of a national leadership network of black conservatives Friday took the Rev. Al Sharpton to task over his criticism of Glenn Becks "Restoring Honor" rally, held Saturday, on the 47th anniversary of Martin Luther Kings I Have a Dream speech. Mychal Massie, chairman of Project 21, chellenged Sharpton to a debate over whether race is more important than the equality of all men under the Constitution and under God. The Constitution, and Ive read the Constitution, permits for Glenn Beck to hold a rally. He is not in any way taking advantage

I agree with what he says, except it doesn’t take much looking at pictures of the event to realize there were more than 90,000 people there.
I saw Sharpton on Geraldo’s show after the rally...criticizing Beck and basically ignoring King’s niece’s comments. It was truly the most pathetic thing I’ve seen in awhile. He WANTS everyone to be as persistantly angry as he is...and won’t accept anything less. What a sadsack and buffoon.
Liberal Geraldo Rivera blasted the pitiful Rev. Sharpton of Tawaney Brawley fame out of the water. Sharpton was vicious, redundant, and really foolish in his remarks about Becks honorable gathering. Sharpton does not speak for anyone but down and out blacks...Fox does a disservice to their viewers by having the man on at all.
You could also have mentioned: PHONY!!
I heard parts of Mr. Sharpton’s speech, but I found it difficult to listen to.
He was angry. He is angry. It must be a difficult burden to carry for him, because he always tries to pass it to others. Perhaps if he felt the full weight of his own anger, he would let some of it go.
I much preferred the tone of Mr. Beck’s event.
Thanks for being a good American, Glenn Beck, because that is exactly what America needs right now.
It took this long for Geraldo to figure out Sharpton?
I want to know why the give these two racists,
Sharpton and Jackson, a forum in the main stream media?
They never ask David Duke for his comments on issues - so why Sharpton and Jackson?
I’m sure that most democrats are truly ignorant that MLK Jr was a Republican, and that the many democrats of the ‘50s and ‘60s were the ones that put roadblock after roadblock toward Civil Rights: people like the late KKK William Bird and Gov. George Wallace. But then again, today, being a democrat/progressive usually means you don’t let facts get in the way of one’s agenda.
BTW, just where was the Reverend Sharpton ordained?
CA....
He was ordained by Bishop F.D. Washington in the Church of God in Christ at age 9. He now is a Baptist minister. He claims to believe in God .....
If I ever knew 8/28 was the anniversary of the MLK speech, I had long since forgotton...but I will remember it now. Beck has done more to enlighten the masses of the MLK speech than any so-called civil rights leader since his death.
I also forgot CROOK.....Pardon moi!
I guess it's for all those folks in Rio Linda.....who knows?
The one good thing I got out of it....is knowing the entire nation witnessed Sharpton's true colors...
I don't understand it either. I know some people who work harder at staying "in the system" than they would if they'd just go to school and get a job....
I think he's runnin' skeered...... :)
