Minimum estimate of Saturday's crowd on the Mall: 300,000 Maximum estimate: One million people.
Meaning of the crowd: An enormous upheaval in the emotions of average Americans is coursing through the country, with a certain significance for November's elections. It will have a lasting, profound impact on America's political direction.
Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin provided an occasion to glimpse this undeniable phenomenon. Of course, the interpretations of what the phenomenon is and what its consequences will be will keep the chattering class busy for weeks, if not years.
Some on the left are trying, with increasing desperation, to use old and new media to brand this surge in public participation in politics as sinister, even though it was preceded by a surge from the left of people and energy into President Obama's campaign.

Hugh is wrong..only OBAMA voters were conned
could also be read as “30% of the population are dependent slackers and hard-core Communists”
What would be the number if the TV viewership were added in?
You can’t cheat an honest man.
I’ve been waiting to see this headline for a long, long time. The thing is the con is worse and goes back further than most people can even begin to realize.
Great read. Recommend it to your lib family and friends. Buy it and give it TO them if you have to: “We’ve Been Had” by James Kenna
Neah. We were ALL conned. After all, the only alternative we offered was RINO McCain.
The only reason (other than Obama) I voted for him, was that I hoped he’d take ill and Palin would take over.
Thanks for posting.
I followed Hewitt on his radio show while I was in Los Angeles,
right from the start till I left in 2005.
He started off with a diplomatic approach to the Dems/Socialists...
but he has grown a spine over the year.
Especially in the aftermath of 9-11 when the Dems/Socialists
revealed themselves to be more aligned with The Soldiers of Allah
than with the USA.
Hewitt is obviously a very smart guy. But he did get an education
in “enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC” after 9-11.
Yup..all the rest of us knew from the giddyup that “O” was a sham
2010, voters, for one reason, will vote for a refund...
...and that reason is they (even though we tried to warn them) did get conned into believing a bald-face lie.

LOL! Same here. Point for point.
Also interesting is that the Beck rally was racially diverse to some extent.
Sharpton’s rally was not. Yet the LSM chose to focus on all the ‘white people’ at Beck’s rally and not mention ‘black people’ exclusively attended Sharpton’s.
Sharpton knew that the LSM would give ‘equal coverage’ for ANY event held on the same day as Beck’s. So, with a small quickly organized event he’d get maximum face time for Sharpton and be able to continue his race hustle jive, which has him living the life of a multi-millionaire while ‘serving’ a community of poverty. Sharpton’s slave mentality government assistance approach has kept his congregation in shackles.
If only they’d traveled across town and heard Dr. King’s niece speak about the truth path for all Americans to reassert our national independence and identity.
Slavery is now an attitude perpetuated by the ruling liberal class to keep the poor in chains and assure a massive group of voters will keep them in power.
+1
“Hugh is wrong..only OBAMA voters were conned”
Wrong. Big government republicans (McCain) conned you, too.
Don't forget the facebook live feed. At the end over 106,000 were watching. I was amazed by that number. Having watched a number of events live online, that was the largest audience I have ever seen.
I refused to vote for the lesser of two evils (my Idaho electors were going to McCain anyway). I voted for Bob Barr and walking out of the voting booth I felt GREAT!
No more lesser of two evils for me.
