I have always wondered about the 'honorees' REMOVAL of the tar and feathers.

Wouldn't hot tar cause 2nd or 3rd degree burns? Then there is the flesh that would be removed when the tar came off. . .

Just for curiosity, anyway of knowing what the after effects of the honor was?

Other than that, I believe it should be employed at once!

I can’t disagree.

Getting rid of the tar when reinforced with embedded body hair would be a bog problem

I’ve often wondered the same thing. It sounds so simple and trite, but it probably was a death sentence. At the very least, a lifetime of severe disfigurement and eternal pain.

Can you just imagine how long it would take to get the stuff off with kerosene with gaping sores and wounds?
