Obama ends his Martha's Vineyard vacation Sunday and heads to the Gulf, five years to the day from when Katrina roared ashore in Louisiana. Eighty percent of New Orleans was flooded when the storm tore through protective levees.

I wouldn’t use hot tar, that can actually kill a person and would be horribly disfiguring even if you survive. The pain would be like being roasted alive. I would maybe pour some syrup just warm enough to flow on him and then dump the feathers on. The humiliation would be maximum and he would be busy for hours trying to get the syrup off before the bees, ants and yellowjackets get to him. I doubt that anyone would be eager for a rerun.
Why is it the riders with those silly styrofoam helmets pay the least attention to traffic laws and rider safety ?
Recently I saw one cruising through a busy intersection of two four lane roads, pulling a trailer (18" high) holding his (helemted) child. NOT following the law, NOT paying attention to the traffic around his child.
A block away there were roads going the way he wanted that are nearly untrafficked.
That's a dipshit for real.

Probably twenty years ago I read stories about police “death squads” in some area on the South American continent. They were supposedly going out at night hunting and killing “feral children” who had been abandoned and were roaming the streets at night trying to steal something to eat. I don’t know whether there was ever any truth to this but I am beginning to believe it COULD happen in North America.

Lobster is great on rare occasions but I don’t think I would want to eat it on a regular basis even if I were given it free. A little too rich to eat every week, I think. I prefer crab legs anyway.

A few years ago an excellent film about drug dealing in the projects in Brazil, I believe, came out. Basically the children who lived in these huge, lawless projects did whatever criminal thing they needed to do to get their basic necessities. They had no adult guidance.
It’s killing me that I can’t think of the title...... it was a big hit when it came out. Maybe there is the word children in the title..... I know Sonia Braga’s daughter starred in it.I think it is happening to a degree here........ my mind boggles when I check the Memphis news every day....... teens who look like grown up thugs.... carjacking, murdering, raping, running amock in the schools. I cannot even imagine what it is like to teach in inner city Memphis schools. I know someone who retired & she said, “It was worse than you could imagine.”
Children were meant to be parented.... just like dogs & cats! We have an outdoor cat that we have been feeding for a year. It has taken that long for her to completely trust us & she now loves being petted. Before that she would attack our cats out of desperation for some food. We set up a little home for her w/ quilts in a plastic wheelbarrow in the carport. She loves her little condo & her food bowl is right on top of the tool ledge. She has calmed down because she has a home & love & regular food. It mirrors a feral child’s existence sadly........
