U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on Thursday ranked Chicagos Big Brother network of well over 10,000 public and private surveillance cameras as one of the nations most extensive and integrated and Mayor Daley wants to make it even bigger.

I think that more cameras should be used to mail traffic tickets. Every day that I’m in Chicago, I notice that about 2/3 of the drivers make right turns into left lanes, make left turns into right lanes, and/or change lanes without signaling. Bus and cab drivers are some of the worst drivers. I see a police officer give a ticket, about once every five months. If all of the law-breakers got tickets, the city would get more money, and they wouldn’t have a $600 million deficit.
