Attorneys for Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio fired back at the Justice Department today in an ongoing dispute over a civil rights investigation, rejecting an ultimatum to provide access to thousands of arrest records and employee interviews by September 10. “If DOJ seeks to dictate every deadline and maintain the position that it, in its sole discretion, can determine what it wants and when, without any reasonable limitations on scope and without any input from MCSO [Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office], what DOJ truly seeks is compelled or coerced compliance,” wrote Arpaio attorney Robert Driscoll in a letter to Judy Preston, acting

The Department is conducting the civil rights investigation under a federal law provision that permits the government to scrutinize state agencies that receive federal funding. If the agency is deemed to have engaged in discriminatory behavior it could risk losing federal grants.

The thieves in Washington steal it from you, and then attach their evil strings and pretend to be generous and magnanimous when they give a little of it back. I hope a shooting war starts between Arizona and the feds. I will side with freedom lovers.

I can’t claim to understand the intricacies, but my understanding is that the position of sheriff is very independent and can absolutely tell the feds to take a hike. Now, a weak man might not embrace such potential — but Joe has cajones. I’m glad to see him standing strong, as expected.

An example of what this nation stands in great need of today. Leaders with backbone and a determination to do what’s right!

I love the timing. Just weeks before an election where the fascists are going to get drubbed their fellow travelers in the DOJ decide to get in on the act. The more apparent their arrogance and over-bearing ways become the more motivated and energized the right becomes.

The EPA caved earlier today on the proposed lead ammo ban which would have really fueled the right in these midterms. I think the WH is just beginning to sense how fed up the electorate really is. Hopefully, they won’t fully catch on until November 3.

Arpaio knows how to deal with thugs, gangsters and terrorists. He has been dealing with idiots like Holder for many, many moons. Like Barry, Holder is in over his head.

We are already in CW II, it is a cold war for now, the hot war may be coming soon.

Every state between AZ and VA will side with any governor that kicks the Feds out of their state. Its gonna happen, just when; that is the question.

He should be given a medal and on the cover of Time magazine as man of the year but instead wrong is right and right is wrong. Why is Joe and Sarah (and Sean, Rush, Beck, and freepers of course) the only ones fighting back? Why aren’t other repubs standing beside them (ok, Michelle B) but where are the rest?

Just a few years ago I'd have thought someone was talking gibberish if they said I'd be wishing that a US state secedes so that I could move there and engage in a fight against the federal government, but that's where I'm at today. The fed has become a hideous monster, and it needs to be faced.

The DOJ really does hate “the people”.

The DOJ champions the New Black Panther Party, Islam and illegal aliens.

Sheriff Joe champions the Rule of Law, the US Constitution and the protection of citizens in Arizona. Americans in all 50 states have come to admire Sheriff Joe and are carefully watching Obama's administration in its attempt to persecute him. Media dutifully fails to report the dirty vendetta against this sheriff, but not worry, Americans KNOW what is going on and who is responsible for attempting to subvert the laws of the land for their own purposes.
