This is not the fate a great nation, the greatest nation ever, is deserved of.
With America facing one crisis after another, limping blindly,rudderless through the turbulent troubling waters of the day, derelict leadership, Presidential ineptitude, betrayal striking at the very heart of our great republic, we all yearn longingly, wistfully back to when America reigned supreme, the greatest President of our times bidding the nation, all of us, a bittersweet good-bye, fond farewell, that now as we look back upon those halcyon days through the dark troubling prism of our times seems so very, very long ago.
Excerpted Below from President Ronald Reagan's Farewell Address to the Nation January 11, 1989
The lesson of all this was, of course, that because we're a great nation, our challenges seem complex. It will always be this way. But as long as we remember our first principles and believe in ourselves, the future will always be ours. And something else we learned: Once you begin a great movement, there's no telling where it will end. We meant to change a nation, and instead, we changed a world...
I've spoken of the shining city all my political life, but I don't know if I ever quite communicated what I saw when I said it. But in my mind it was a tall proud city built on rocks stronger than oceans, wind-swept, God-blessed, and teeming with people of all kinds living in harmony and peace, a city with free ports that hummed with commerce and creativity, and if there had to be city walls, the walls had doors and the doors were open to anyone with the will and the heart to get here. That's how I saw it, and see it still....
And so, good-bye, God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.

A weak President is the Country’s greatest threat.
Even at mach 1, 900 nm is a long way. Any Missile in the air for an hour is not gonna get near a carrier.

Thomas Aquinas would be spinning in his grave to see what is happening to America. As a little note on History, Aquinas spoke of the city on a hill, or the idea that a nation could be run not be conquest, but by being an exemplary society for the rest of the world to see, by how its people lived their lives. It well describes what most of us Conservatives have as an ideal.

How much has been derived from the Pershing II missile? Was there a “campaign contribution” involved?
Keep in mind however this concept has been previously considered by the Soviets. It was based on the SS-N-8 Serb SLBM missile, with terminal guidance and a single nuclear warhead. Targetting would have likely been by a Tu-95 Bear, much the same way they would have operated with the Echo class subs if the subs were operating in the anti-ship instead of land attack missions.
Absolutely. But weak doesn’t begin to describe the abject ineptitude, apathy, detachment we as a nation are so overwhelmingly burdened by the current White House occupant.

It sounds stupid.
A bad electorate is the Country’s greatest threat. Who was there to get a nominee such as McCain, a notorious RINO, on the GOP ticket? Who was around when politicians such as Harry Reid keep getting elected repeatedly, yet they don’t seem to get what is going on in their very own state? It’s in the voters, my friend, and if it has to do with principle vs. party, which one comes first? I think the answer is known all too well.

Missiles are not nearly the threat to A/C carriers as are submarines....
It depends. Intercepting one missile with another isn’t easy. The real problem we’ve been having is a lack of “true” naval warfare since WWII. Has anyone considered the damage of a nuclear-powered attack sub to a carrier via torpedoes? Are the Chinese, or any other nation for that matter, investing in submarine production?
One of their missiles had enough wherewithall to take out a satellite at greater distance. Do not underestimate the level of technology Loral, AEL, etc. (courtesy of Bill Clinton’s State Department)gave them.
