Its a classic movie plot. Think Woman of the Year, with Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn. At first the man and the woman hate each other, then they fall into each others arms? Well, feature the fight that has erupted between the president of the AFL-CIO, Richard Trumka, and Governor Palin of Alaska.
The leader of Big Labor went to Anchorage to give a speech and attacked Mrs. Palin, accusing her of doing everything from writing notes on her hands to coming out with conspiracy theories about President Obama and his death panels to getting close to calling for violence. Sometimes about Sarah Palin youve just got to laugh, Mr. Trumka said. . . . But its not really funny.
Mrs. Palin turned around and gave as good as she got, or better, in one of her patented Facebook postings, a demarche headlined Union Brothers and Sisters, Join Our Commonsense Cause! She wrote as a one-time card-carrying sister of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and United Steelworkers, cards she held by virtue of her husbands membership in the two unions.
She asserted that it was kind of ironic that a union boss has the gall to accuse anyone of threatening violence, particularly in light of what she called the violent attempts by the Service Employees to intimidate those who wanted to make their voices heard in last years town halls.
She argued the real jobs problem was being caused by the policies of President Obama. Suddenly the Internet came alive like the silver screen, so much so that a columnist of the Washington Post, E.J. Dionne, issued a long complaint.
Seems that Mr. Trumka cant get anyone to listen to, let alone write about, his usual speeches about what Mr. Dionne characterizes as social CONTINUE

I rattled off that list to demonstrate that Palin has far more coverage and right leaning media support than anyone last time. She is in a good position to run, generally speaking. As you know, I fully intend to support the most conservative one running. It is highly doubtful that that will be Palin. If it is, so be it, I’ll just have to take up macrame or something.
And you are right, Rush and Levin and Hannity, at the end of the day, were shilling for Mitt last time. A shameful moment in conservative media history.
And that is precisely why so many on the right are wildly enthusiastic about this woman. She's taking it to the libs like no one we've seen in a generation. Not even Ronaldus Magnus was as forthright and feisty as she is. It's refreshing beyond belief to see a conservative show some guts and courage for a change.
Add to that, the fact that she's also got great leadership skills (and experience!), and it's no wonder that millions of Americans are determined to see her become our next president.
Given what our country is facing today, who else on the national scene even comes close to having what it takes to not only beat the Dem candidate in 2012, but to take command of the reins of government and steer this country back its rightful course?
Perhaps there's someone who scores better in every critically important category than Sarah Palin does, but I'll be damned if I know who that is.
There you go again, evading the point. You can't explain your flip-flopping deceit.
Let's face it: you may have the time to be cyber motormouth, but you don't have the conservative personal values to contribute in an meaningful way to any discussion about those who you consider rivals to your preferred candidates.
Trust me, I’m not pinning my hopes on either. Or anyone else, until they step up to the plate and announce. If Hunter runs again - which is highly speculative, I’ll be in his corner. But what I’d really like to see is a flood of conservatives toss their hats into the ring, so we lessen the chance of repeating the boneheaded 2008 scenario of having a multi headed RINO as frontrunner
The difference is that I have a whole slew of preferred candidates, as compared to the cultists.
And for craps sake, what flip flops are you yammering about?
I know I saw George S. Patton's name on that list. If he's not there, I take it all back .. LOL
Do you remember the last time a congressman was elected president? Hint: He wore a stovepipe hat, grew a beard just before swearing-in and oversaw the civil war...
Under that criteria, JFK was the last before bammie.
Not trying to get into an argument but now you're changing things up, I was responding to your original statement....taint no thang :)
If you do in fact go tilting at windmills with Duncan Hunter again, make sure you take Sancho with you. The world is a dangerous place and you don’t want to take it on alone.
Well, I worked him last time up here from Duncan who? to the most popular candidate. So we’ll see.
LOL. Hide behind the mods and JR. Love it.
Where here, your house?
On FR.
Can't read either, eh?
You support women candidates like Bachmann, but you don't support women candidates at all as stated in very derrogatory terms over and over again in Palin threads.
Not flip-flopping? Not deceitful? Tell me how not.
I don't recall a Republican congressional primary cycle receiving this much attention and a lot of that has to do with Sarah Palin.
Add to that her constant criticisms of Obuma and I would say that she has had a very good year.
Please show me some of those derogatory posts "not supporting women candidates at all" on the Palin threads, or otherwise. Thanks
President Kennedy was later a senator, Presidents Nixon and Lyndon Johnson were later senators and vice-presidents, but President Lincoln was only a congressman. Sorry if I wasn’t chrystal clear.
Pissant, you're doing it again. Jim DeMint is a FINE legislator, and an admirable conservative, but he does not inspire, nor does he have the requisite charisma native to all great leaders.
To lead, others must be willing to follow you. Being an able steward or manager is not sufficient. People will bare their breasts to oncoming fire, and charge over the ramparts behind a real leader. When someone's got it, they've got it. When they don't, no amount of smarts or correct policy-making acumen on their part will make up for it.
Jim DeMint can run, but he won't be able to garner the same level of honest, enthusiastic support that Sarah Palin will. The fact is, she's got greater momentum and inertia going forward, than any other potential Republican contender, at this point.
To: pissant Advise you to back off Palin and back off about the womens right to vote. Either back off or I give the green light to the mods to zot your account on the next offense. Im the last defender you have on FR and youre beginning to piss me off too. 72 posted on Friday, August 20, 2010 8:44:52 AM by Jim Robinson (JUST VOTE THEM OUT! teapartyexpress.org) [ Post Reply | Private Reply | To 14 | View Replies | Report Abuse]
So that's settled? Your a flip-flopper. Or deceitful. Take your pick.
Understood. Just don't be surprised when she says and does things that lift your spirits and meet with your approval on a regular basis.
You're probably more skeptical of Sarah Palin than any member of this forum, but take heart. She really does love this country, and has the guts and fortitude to fight for conservative American values without fear or reservation.
If she wins the nomination, then goes on to become our president, she will work hard to achieve things that I think you'll strongly agree with.
