A new poll shows that while Americans continue to feel they are losing their freedoms under President Obama's agenda of government takeover of private companies, health care and energy, they are beginning to fight back with public statements such as bumper stickers and political buttons.
"This may well represent a mainstream rebellion of the masses who are tired of being cowed by a national mainstream media that has offered little objective criticism of the president," said Fritz Wenzel of Wenzel Strategies.
The August WND Freedom Index poll was conducted Aug. 13-16 with an automated technology calling a random sampling of listed telephone numbers nationwide. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.78 percentage points.
"It was notable that a significantly higher percentage of Americans feel emboldened to put political bumper stickers on their cars or to wear a political button expressing their feelings. This may well reflect the increased political activism we are seeing across the political spectrum, but whatever the reason, 71 percent said they feel very free or mostly free to express their beliefs using these communications tools, up from 60 percent just a month ago," Wenzel said.

We are just getting started, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
Yes, there is a culture war, and it’s not just on the “social” issues. The president seems increasingly out of touch with “middle America” and our values. We see this on issues such as the Ground Zero mosque and the issue of giving civilian trials to terrorists. We see it in the censorship of words such as “war on terror” as we can only describe this effort in politically correct terms now. We see it in cases such as the Ft. Hood shooting and the Christmas Day bomber, both matters of Islamic men committing acts in the name of Islam, and then our government officials from Obama on down bend over backwards to avoid discussing that Islam was any motivation for these men to commit their acts.
We see it in cases such as the Ramadan dinner, and the Cairo speech reaching out to the Islamic world, when the president doesn’t observe the National Day of Prayer.
We see it when a prominent black man is arrested, and he just assumes that it was a matter of police misconduct. And he relates it to past cases of police brutality and abuse of minorities, which had nothing to do with the case once we learned all the facts.
We see it when, at a time of economic difficulty, he and his wife take multiple vacations, both separately and together.
We see a disconnect on policy issues too, but, clearly this president seems to be representative of a “liberal elite” world view, and such a world view is at odds with that of most Americans. And that is a big part of this culture war we see happening.
Poll after poll after poll consistently paints that picture that, not only are the American people past the honeymoon with Obama, they’re already filing for divorce.
Not only that, Obama is only the tip of the iceberg. The real picture is much, much worse than just a rejection of Obama. Americans are now rejecting the entire liberal, elitist Democrat political class, and everything they stand for.
There’s a rebellion going on, and it’s pointed squarely at the American left. They’re going to increasingly find themselves on the defensive, and in time, they’ll be on the run.
got the “FUBO” and “Don’t Tread on Me” stickers on my truck already!
Why would anyone read NYT, WaPost, etc. or watch CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS PMSNBC propaganda machines? Pure crap, and they all use the same journolist talking points.
Isn't it about time we had some more conservative news channels?
You are so right. The mood in America, I think, would best be described as pre-revolutionary.
