Three men arrested Wednesday were preparing to build improvised explosive devices for attacks within Canada, police say.
They were also raising money to fund improvised explosive device, or IED, attacks on Canadian troops in Afghanistan, RCMP chief superintendent Serge Therriault said Thursday at a news conference in Ottawa.
Two of the accused, Hiva Mohammad Alizadeh, 30, and Misbahuddin Ahmed, 26, were taken into custody in Ottawa on Wednesday. The third, 28-year-old Khurram Syed Sher, was arrested in London, Ont.
The three men arrested are accused of conspiring with at least three others — identified as James Lara, Rizgar Alizadeh and Zakaria Mamosta — and other “persons unknown”, who have been at one time or another located in Canada, Iran, Afghanistan, Dubai and Pakistan, to facilitate a “terrorist activity” between February 2008 and Aug. 24 of this year.
Khurram Sher was a contestant on the CTV reality program Canadian Idol.

Seriously though, the judges on that episode of Canadian Idol may have cause to be worried over their own safety....they said some rather pointedly direct and decidedly uncomplimentary things which I doubt will be appreciated by the perpetually-hysterical Islamofascist Community.

I did a couple of searches for something that I could use as an irreverent, witty rejoinder to your post....I used keywords strings like 'gay muslim' and 'gay taliban' but the results that I got were so disgusting that it thoroughly put me off any sort of witty or irreverent mood.
Suffice it to say that I think this guy may indeed have all sorts of psycho-sexual disorder issues on top of the 'normal' lunacy of his ilk. Going into the matter much further will probably place me in violation of Free Republic posting regulations, and if not it would certainly violate the parameters of good taste, so I'll just leave it at that if you don't mind.

Sadly, recent reports on this that I've been hearing have been that this terror group was well on the way to producing sophisticated, remote-controlled IED's to use on the public roadways of Canada, much like what have killed and horribly injured so many of our brave military in Afghanistan and Iraq. I have no doubt that this is not the only group with such goals and my prayers are with our Northern Friends. May God Bless and Protect you all.

We have to go to war with Islam, instead of Terror. Then maybe we could get some where.
Although I agree, I fear that unless there are multiple 9/11 -scale terror attacks within a short time frame, such a proper focus as you suggest will never be developed by the public. As long as the attacks are relatively small and events are spaced out a bit over time, people’s memories will fade and will not allow them to see the enemy clearly. Their vision will forever be clouded by the Left and by their own goodwill and Western sense of courtesy and congeniality. The terrorists know this, and so they play to the Left’s unhinged and distorted worldview while keeping the attacks small and spaced fairly far apart. This way there are occasional times of public outrage separated by the Left’s mau-mauing and browbeating of anyone who dares focus on the true enemy. Time passes, and Islam eventually works its way into the culture and eventually dominates it.
Socialism arrives by bicycle, as they say, but a bicycle travels far faster than necessary as far as Islam is concerned. They are content with hammering away at us for the next thousand years if necessary; they simply don’t care. They feel that they have all the time in the world, and as long as the Left dominates the media and most of popular culture, and serves as Useful Idiots for Islam, they do indeed have all the time that they need.
