Democrats Drove President Obama's Car into the Ditch
American Thinker ^ | August 26, 2010 | Morgan Philpot

President Obama and the Democrats have a new favorite campaign and press talking points metaphor that compares the American economy to a car that Republicans supposedly drove into a ditch. Not only did the GOP drive the car into the ditch, the Democrats say, but they have also left all the heavy lifting to the president, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi. There is one major flaw with this new favorite metaphor; it was actually Democrats who were driving when the car (America's economy) went into the ditch.

Obama needs every much as much "credit" as Reid and Pelosi.

The Dems also switched all the spark plug wires around randomly and put a bomb under the hood.

The Democrats have controlled Congress (and therefore spending) for just a few weeks short of 4 years now.

Their storyline is so easy to debunk, it's laughable.

Obama/Reid/Pelosi don't have the motor skills to drive.

Besides they are intoxicated with their own sense of power.

The perversely funny thing about Obama’s new stand up routine is as a senator he voted for all of the programs he’s blaming the GOP for, and which are now being identified as contributing to the current economic collapse.

Raise your hand if you ever got a new job and then immediately started complaining about the work that was involved? Now raise your hand if you did complain, didn't do your job, and didn't get fired!

The Whiner-n-Chief is whining himself into not only 1 term, but also the slot for worst crybaby president ever! Grow some balls Obama! Sheeze... no one likes a crybaby -- except for your damn voter base that needs a frikin' nanny-state!!! Pfffffffftttt'U!

Better late than never....but how has it taken the GOP/RNC this long to set this premise! Well, this isn’t even the RNC/GOP making this point...is it. It is beyond pathetic how lacking the RNC/GOP is at correctly pointing this reality out. That DEMS took control of Congress / Spending since 2006.

Nanzi and Dingy were in the front seat driving, but, ZerO’s inane chatter from the backseat telling them view off the cliff was great made them drive faster.

Ain’t gonna work. Obama has been in the driver’s seat, whether he wants to acknowledge it or not.

I like what someone else said on another thread.

Obama claims Bush drove the economy into a ditch, but Obama drove the economy into the Grand Canyon.

The GOP is hunkered down hoping the media doesn't take notice of them between now & Novemeber, so they can win by default.

Buncha poltroons.

You're right and this is a terrible strategy. Just because the dems are self-destructing doesn't mean that you will build momentum for your own side. Without that positive momentum that comes from a positive agenda to support there will be no tsunami, just marginally more turnout than ususal.

The GOP will lose this thing if they can. Poultroons, indeed.

NOW is the time for the proverbial paradigm shift. People are ALL ears - present a clear alternative and change the political landscape for years.

Its really frustrating.

Its really frustrating.

Of course I detest the islamo-marxists ambushing our Republic but I am FURIOUS with the GOP so-called "leadership." Useless barnacles on the increasingly socialist ship of state.

And the ship is sinking.
