(Aug. 25) -- A 50-year-old Sri Lankan woman who worked as a maid for a large family in Saudi Arabia for five months was allegedly tortured by some of the family members hammering nails into her body, doctors said.
The woman, who flew back to Colombo, Sri Lanka, from Riyadh on Saturday night, was brought to the hospital by her concerned children Monday. X-rays showed there were 23 nails embedded in her body.
"Some of the nails were 2 inches long," Dr. Prabath Gajadeera of Kamburupitiya Base Hospital told AOL News today. "Most of the nails were embedded in her arms and legs. She didn't even realize how many were in there."
Gajadeera said the woman told doctors that the Saudi family allegedly tortured her with nails and threatened her life with knives during her employment with them.

OK, let’s not jump to conclusions. There could be a very peaceful and humane reason for pounding 23 nails into their maid. We’re just biased by our narrow Christian world view.

“The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment, who sent an envoy to the hospital to record her statement, plans to take action against the Saudi family who employed the woman and has informed the Sri Lankan Embassy in Riyadh and the Saudi Embassy in Sri Lanka, the Daily News of Sri Lanka reported today.”

I'd go for hanging the adult members of this family and taking the majority of their wealth and giving it to the maid.
Nuking a country because of the sadistic actions of a single family seems a bit unreasonable to me.

Offhand, about the only reason that I can think of right at the moment is that it might possibly contaminate some of the oil with radioactive fission by-products, making it unfit for use...
But if I were to think about it a bit longer, I might come up with a few others (for example, there just might be some innocents mixed in with the evildoers)...
Actually, to be fair, I think it’s more of a Saudi thing than a muslim one. The Saudis are notorious all over the Arab world for abusing the hired help, whom they treat like slaves.
