I’ve been hearing stories about migrant workers in saudi for over ten years now. It makes a person wonder when is the UN going to start issuing statements?

It is not just Saudi that this happens, they had similar cases when I was working in Kuwait. Lots of maids jumped from high rise apartments in apparent acts of suicide that were not suicides. Another case in Saudi when I was in Kuwait was the wife pouring draino down a maids throat for drinking a glass of milk without asking permission. Most countries like the Philippines did not press the issue much because they needed the money these people sent home to their families.

It makes a person wonder when is the UN going to start issuing statements?

US Foreign Aid recipients and voting at the United Nations

Snip:

Abstract: Since 2000 about 95 percent of U.N. member states that receive U.S. assistance have voted against the United States most of the time in the U.N. General Assembly on non-consensus votes. The U.S. should inform aid recipients that their support--or lack of support--for U.S. priorities in the U.N. and other international organizations will directly affect future decisions on allocating U.S. assistance.

2nd Snip:

The Obama Administration and Congress should recognize these realities and take several steps to increase the chances of garnering support for U.S. positions in the General Assembly. Specifically, the U.S. should: Explicitly link disbursement of U.S. development assistance to support for U.S. policy priorities in the U.N.

Obozo should be making a human rights issue out of things like this, instead of saying the US is inhumane in not wanting illegal aliens on our soil. We don’t care if they are black, white, brown or yellow, if they are illegal then GO HOME and FIX your own country to your liking and leave us the hades alone.
