That was the second thought I had this morning when I heard about Millers likely upset (the first, of course, was Dude?), and no doubt it was the first thought that Murkowski herself had. People often compare Crists indie run this year to Liebermans bid four years ago after losing the primary to Ned Lamont, but theres a big difference between those two. Florida is a purple state with two legit party nominees, so Crist is facing a crapshoot in a true three-way race. Connecticut was a blue state where the GOP nominee was a non-factor, so Lieberman knew he could go indie and expect Republicans to vote strategically for him as the more conservative of the two viable options.

There ought to be a rule that if you lose a primary and chose to run as an inpendent, you have to return with interest every penny ever donated to any of your campaign by any politial party.

I predict that Murkowski will run as an Independent. It is what RINOs do.

She can’t. Alaska has a sore loser law. If you lose a primary contest in a recognized party you cannot later run in the general election as an independent. She had until June 10, 2010 to file for an independent run.

Ask some of the ALaska crew if this CAN be done! I’d think she’d have to go through the entire primary as an I, but who knows.

Palin should demand that McCain campaign for Miller.

It takes time. I’m not sure she has the time and organization.

She cant run as an indpedent because AK has a sore-loser law.
But she could run on some third-party ticket, like the secessionist party’s.
To: Frantzie
It’s about the power. The RINOs are more power hungry than the liberals.

Alaska has a
Sore Loser law.
This entire silly business is just another overheated rumor cooked up by the notoriously rabid anti-Palin AllahPundit.
To: GoCards
Good, so we can just look forward to her backing the Democrat.

She doesn’t want Miller to lose.

I don't think she will. She doesn't seem the type. I liked her.
With all the negative feelings about her because her Dad appointed her as his successor, didn't she just barely win re-election?

Palin should demand that McCain campaign for Miller. Why would Miller want McCain within a thousand miles of him during the campaign?
To: Lou Budvis
You would think the GOP could enforce something like that.
To: devere
The people in AK are not brain dead like the people in AZ who back McCain.
Go Miller!
