. . . She was urged by senior leadership at the National Republican Senatorial Committee to go negative on Miller in a meeting two months ago but rejected that advice, insisting that attack ads were not how politics were conducted in Alaska, according to a source familiar with the gathering.
By refusing to define Miller early on in the race, Murkowski gave away her biggest advantage: money. (On Aug. 4, Murkowski reported $1.86 million in her campaign warchest; Miller had just $84,000 in the bank at that time.)
As the votes were being counted, Miller gave full credit for his lead to Palin, the half-term governor of Alaska whose endorsement put him on the national political map. "I'm absolutely certain that was pivotal," he told the Anchorage Daily News. And, Murkowski, put the blame for her potential loss at the feet of the former governor, saying: "I think she's out for her own self-interest. I don't think she's out for Alaska's interest." . . .

LOL. Those “perfect conservatives” were never for Sarah anyway. In fact, most of them despised her long before the McCain endorsement.
Belated Ping. ;)
Lisa (I never get angry) Murkowski
Noted. :)
the half term governor of Alaska
She only needs a half term to accomplish what mere mortals need a full term to do.
ROFL.
according to C4P....Sabato believe the remaining votes aren’t there for Lisa.

Palin has a new head for her trophy case!!!!
That was true, and oh how the Lame Stream wishes that she were still socked away in Alaska, far from the political scene!
Look at the damage she's inflicted on the MARXIST AND HIS DAMN PARTY!

It is an undeniable FACT, that HISTORICALLY, the vast majority of the time, the village vote DOES go “liberal”.
I have LIVED in Alaska for almost FORTY years. Including some villages. I don’t live in Anchortown.
I actually do know my butt from a hole in the ground “dude” or “dudette”.
Even the leftstream media finds an acorn now and then.
EVERYBODY that I know, and ALL of my family, and I, voted for Joe. But I’m not so stupid to think that means the entire electorate voted that way.
I don’t pay ANY attention to the leftstream media. I don’t watch ANY TV, and I certainly never listen to TPB such as the the Anchorage Daily Worker et. al.
I’M an ALASKAN, and an AMERICAN, and I’M a FREE individual person.
NOBODY “tells” me what or HOW to think.
GO JOE!
Har! One of my favorite scenes fromone of my favorite movies!
Thanks, ak367!
I agree. Of course, given the quality journalism in the US, there will soon be informative article about the matter in the media which one can post.

I am such a poor typist!
yep, I know what you are talking about... Too bad we don’t live in a perfect world for some of these Freepers.
So, the pro-Shucksabee TROLLS are hardest hit by today's primary results.
Alrighty then.
Just curious, are the trolls who sign up here to shrill for John McCain ALSO hit hard by the primary results, when McCain's favored candidates WON?
I fail to see exactly how the trolls would be "hit hardest" when their candidate has a string of successful victories. Still not making sense. I guess since Sarah got the "credit" in her HOME state, it somehow hurts Huck supporters when he lent his support to her cause. Right.
BTW, How do you define "troll"? I voted for Huckabee when the only options were him, McCain, or Romney. I believed Huckabee was the most conservative of those three, and still believe so. If the election was between Palin and Huckabee, I would NOT support Huckabee (although Sarah Palin is not a perfect conservative either and also endorsed a few RINOs)
Hold out for a spot on the grammar police. Better pay, snappier uniforms. ;)
“only” 57%? ONLY??
Seriously, while you don’t have to agree with the outcome, labeling a 57% trouncing as “only” is just in denial politically.
JD got trounced, whether you agree with it or not, it happened.
And like it or not, its probably a damned good thing he did.. if he couldn’t get more than 43% of the party loyal in a primary, he had ZERO chance in a general election.
JD got almost twice as many votes as the democrat who will now go up against McCain in November.
Look what you started! I have no idea what this is all about. I am hopelessly lost and I think I’m content to have it remain that way.
