17,932 Miller 17,380 Murkowski
That could be correct. I had read somewhere they were already counted, but that may be wrong. We wait ... :).
Thanks Steelers6!
If it holds this makes up for McCain’s winning. Murkowski is way under the radar compared to him but it is she who was the most liberal GOP Senator up for reelection. Aside from her twin cousins in Maine she is the worst Republican in the Senate.
Palin was key in both races. She helped us in one and hurt us in other. Though I’m not sure McPain would have lost even with her opposition.

in other news, a little gem overlooked is that little nasty thing called Hollis French lost his bid for the Gov of Alaska against Berkowitz. He was the evil creature, Obama sent after Sarah Palin in Alaska when she got the VP slot. Sarah will be smiling tonight.

Thanks...Just thought: The areas you mentioned earlier are often dependant on boat travel. When AA was in the area, they sometimes even sent their mail to the post office via the “tendors” that picked up the fish and traveled from island to island, boat to boat. That being said, Weather can make a difference...How’s the weather in the area?
Does Gunny still retain a state congress seat?
absentee ballots
are being moved by kyack and dogsled.
don’t hold your breath
About half that went out are already in, so it doesn’t seem likely that they will make a difference.

Seems to be fairly calm, as far as the Bering Sea and Arctic Ocean get calm at the beginning of fall.
Who will the winner be running against?
I seem to have read that this Republican Scott in FL is unelectable in November because of personal financial woes.

So they should be calling it for Miller soon right?
Well, there are 7 or 8K absentee ballots out there, and we have under a 2K difference...
If we extrapilate out the votes for all the counts that are at least 50% in(all but HD 6,36, 37, 38, 39, 40) there are only 3,350 votes left. Also looking at the registration numbers on the state site compared to actual numbers 75% of the number of republicans voted in the primary(its high because un/nonafiliated voters can vote republican too). Use this to decide that there are only 7,100 could have voted republican in the 6, 36, 37,38 ,39 and 40 HD.
Also remember that we know that 1,000 already voted in the 6th and 36. so we get 6,000. also 15% voted so far in 37-40 so subtract another 300 or so.
What we get is ~9,000 votes left, many still in neutral or pro miller districts.
Also miller has a ~ 3,000 lead
This thing is over.
