WEST TISBURY, Mass. — The wind, rain and gloom that have curtailed most outdoor activities for the past three days have done little to keep President Barack Obama from enjoying his Martha's Vineyard vacation.
While he's been able to sneak in two rounds of golf, he told reporters Tuesday he's "doing a lot of reading" at the farm compound he's rented for the first family. "I'm having a great time," he said.
The president made the remarks, his first in public since heading out on vacation last week, as he escorted first lady Michelle Obama from the State Road restaurant.
The couple dined out for the second consecutive night, this time with Washington power broker Vernon Jordan and his wife, Ann, as well as Chicago friends Eric and Cheryl Whitaker. White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett also joined the group.

Didn't the older daughter just come back from 2 months at camp? Maybe this family likes being apart? Grandma must be tired of being used as a perpetual babysitter. I wonder if she ever gets a break.

I'll never forget Obama telling us in an interview that his kids were not impressed with Air Force One. What kid wouldn't think a ride on AF1 was the coolest? Then again, he was probably lying.

I completely agree. She dresses too young for a woman in her mid forties. I think she believes she is a fashion model and wears the bizarre outfits 20 something anorexics wear on the runways.
Tweens and teens can get away with that, but not forty-somethings.

Her clothes would just be sad, except that the fashion columns keep writing about how fashion forward she is - praising her style.... there is no way they would say that if Sarah Palin was wearing the same ridiculous outfits.

I'll bet ma and pa don't want the kidlets to hear what they talk about, and so you don't see them dining as a family in a restaurant. I'll betchya that the kids and ma dine together with grandma in the kitchen, and obama does not join them. obama is not part of the family equation, except by “design.” And I believe that obama just “tolerates” kids in general. And dogs, And.... Unless he can be the “dog” or the “kid.” It's all about obama, ya know?

I noticed that too—he looks annoyed. He doesn’t like being bothered by photographers when he’s on “vacation.” I really don’t think he enjoys his job. And Michelle’s outfit looks like the designer ran out of fabric and thru together whatever they had laying around. Awful!
It’s Ramadan. Hussein can’t eat until sundown. Moochie can’t wait that long, so she loads up in the afternoon.
