Technically he probably never lost his English citizenship.

His parents would have had to choose which one - Kenyan or English - some time after his birth.

Given that his parents had already split up, that would have probably been a duty his mother didn’t bother with.

So it would have probably been up to him to make a choice when he turned 18,

If I became an Israeli citizen without renouncing my U.S. citizenship, my status as a U.S. citizen doesn't change. Likewise, if a foreign country passes a law saying I'm a citizen of their country, my U.S citizenship is unaffected.

In other words, if you're a natural born citizen, dual citizenship doesn't change that. All that matters are U.S. citizenship laws.
