And Now, Daisy Khan’s $12,000 Taxpayer-Funded Trip to the UAE
Pajamas Media ^ | Aug 24, 2010 | Claudia Rosett

Posted on 08/24/2010 1:08:09 AM PDT by Rashputin

Yes, fresh from denouncing America on national television as a place rife with “hate of Muslims,” a place so Islamophobic that “it’s beyond Islamopobia,” Daisy Khan, co-planner of the Ground Zero mosque project, will soon be hopping a plane at taxpayer expense, courtesy of the State Department, to jet from New York to the United Arab Emirates and deliver to the Emiratis her views about Muslim life in America.

This is what the State Department calls “public diplomacy” — a program that enlists about 1,200 Americans each year to fly with plenty of leg room to foreign lands and tell folks over there what it’s like to live in America. You might think a lot of these junkets would by now be redundant, in a world so interconnected that the Fort Hood shooter took cues from an imam in Yemen. But then, the web just doesn’t have the zing of international business class and $496 per diems.

For Daisy Khan’s circle, State’s public diplomacy program is a boom industry. (So are a lot of things for Khan & partners right now, subject of my latest column, Cashing In On Ground Zero). Khan’s husband and “bridge-building” partner, the man behind the Ground Zero mosque, Imam Feisal Adbul Rauf, is already on a more extensive State Department tour. After stops in Bahrain, where he has just been, and Qatar, where he will be this week, Rauf will meet up with Khan in the UAE, from Aug. 29-Sept.2. His trip will cost U.S. taxpayers $16,000. Hers will cost $12,000.

(Hmmm. I flew out to the UAE this spring, spent more time there they plan to, spent another two weeks in Turkey, stayed in some very pleasant hotels, hired cars, ate well, and somehow it all came to significantly less than Khan’s trip alone… next time, I’ve got to get this right. Or maybe someone ought to take a closer look at the State Department budget?)

If you want slightly more detail about the Rauf-Khan trip to the UAE, the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi has posted an announcement on its web site . But don’t get your hopes up that you’ll learn anything there about who Rauf and Khan will actually be seeing, as they build their “people to people” ties. Most details of these public outreach trips are kept secret from the American public.

Anyway, there you have it — for all those American taxpayers who caught Daisy Khan’s Sunday rant on ABC TV’s “This Week,” don’t bother looking for her on the U.S. talk shows next Sunday. She’ll be checking into an Abu Dhabi hotel, on your dime, to share her views with a Middle Eastern audience.

No matter what they call this, it's a violation of the establishment clause since it singles out a religion and provides that religion both funding and the auspice of the US Federal Government. Unlike the Christian related displays that the leftists deliberately lie and label as violations of the establishment clause, these incidents of preferential funding and protection of Islam are exactly what the framers had in mind when they wrote the establishment clause. Islam is being framed as the state religion without so much as a single court case being brought against this sort of thing. At least, I can't find any information about court challenges to this stuff.

Unless the leftists are stopped soon, it's going to take a lot more than court cases and public interest to stop the move to the religion of Barry.

Regards

You’d think Daisy Khan would be warning them in the strongest possible terms to stay away from this ghastly land. But ah, to no avail....

Yeah, well. The Won has already told us that "he doesn't get too hung up on process and procedure." The fact that "process and procedure" is what the Constitution is all about matters not a whit to Imam Obama. Matter of fact, I think he gets a chuckle out of people who are bothered by this.

ACLU is focussed on removing crucifixes from public lands. And from private lands that can be seen from public lands.

Bummer cares only about ideology. The sausage making procedure does not make a difference to getting a proper Bummer sausage.

OPINION:

That’s the great thing about socialism — spreading the wealth...apparently you can spend the hard earned tax payer dollars on just about whatever you want to.

Barry is not mooslem, barry is “black liberation theology”.

And unless it's changed completely since the late seventies, such folk think they're a progressive evolution of Islam on the spiritual level, taking only the portions of the Christian world that fits in with both Islam and Marxism. That's how they separate themselves from the liberation theology heresy that arose in South America among formerly Catholic revolutionaries. So, just as most folks dim enough (i.e. those not making the bucks off of it) to be involved in black liberation theology think they're related to Christianity, they think they're related to islam as well.

I've even heard some of the people into that stuff talk about how they're going to lead both Christians and Muslims to the new truth that only they have discovered. IOW, in their literature and their own minds they're an awful lot closer to Black Muslims than they are to Christians of any sort. For all intents and purposes, calling themselves Christian is marketing, nothing else. The the fact that true Muslims the world over would execute black muslims as heretics dosen't seem to penetrate the haze of hatred that they're perpetually pumping out.

Regards

The Clintons should have been held responsible for the first 9/11 attack. Are they pushing for another one?
