Palin Takes on Two Old Foes in Alaska Primary
Real Clear Politics ^ | August 23, 2010 | Scott Conroy

In Going Rogue, Sarah Palin unleashed some of her most descriptive personal jabs against her former close aide turned bitter enemy John Bitney, whom she described as "a Blackberry games addict who couldn't seem to keep his lunch off his tie." Palin blamed Bitney for inspiring a still infamous comment that she made about state legislators during her early days in office and added, "the fact that his shirt was buttoned one button off and his shirt tail was poking through his open fly didn't exactly inspire confidence."

Bitney, now the campaign manager for Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), a fellow Palin antagonist, will have the chance to refute Palin's portrayal of him as an incompetent slacker on Tuesday when Murkowski faces off against Palin-backed challenger Joe Miller in Alaska's Republican Senate primary.

So Palin is competing with a campaign manager according to them?

"a Blackberry games addict who couldn't seem to keep his lunch off his tie."

"the fact that his shirt was buttoned one button off and his shirt tail was poking through his open fly didn't exactly inspire confidence."

Statements like these realy demonstrate the professionalsim and Reagan-like Statesmanship of Palin. She certainly has my vote!

Hi, this is Governor Sarah Palin, I'm calling on behalf of my friend Joe Miller who is running for U.S. Senate. Joe is a West Point graduate and a combat veteran who was awarded the Bronze Star for his leadership during Desert Storm.

Joe is a former judge and a common sense conservative who understands that the Founders wrote the Constitution to limit the power of the federal government. Hes got the backbone to confront Obama's radical agenda.

By contrast, Lisa Murkowski has voted with the Democrats more than any Republican up for reelection this year. She waffled on the repeal of ObamaCare, co-sponsored Cap and Trade, and voted for TARP.

Joe has the right ideas for Alaska. Join me in voting for Joe Miller on August 24th.

Thank You

Miller certainly has momentum going... but is it too little, too late? I have the feeling this might very well be different result than if the primary were two weeks later.

Turnout will be key.

GOOD idea. I have notes, but you’re right. We need a formal list that includes House races. Sharron Angle tops my list right now.

She has to win. Harry has plenty of money and Sarah will appear for her in person.

Ya know, I saw old Wally Hickel run under the AIP banner and beat both repub & dem candidates. I also remember Palin beating Lisa's dad in the same race 51% to 19% when all the polls & media said never occur in a million years. ADN has been awful quite about this race. Me thinks they don't want the people waking up to Miller's possible win. The have been laughing uncontrollably on Anch Edition over the last several months over this race; but history shows that ADN is usually dead wrong on their predictions, which gives me a great deal of hope.

It's turnout and people are pissed off at Obama, his direction, and especially at Lisa for her support of the left's issues. All Lisa talks about of late is how conservative she really is; but people know the truth.

I've reminded a bunch of the locals out this way about the primary and only found one who was voting for Lisa; over a dozen for Miller. I do think the good ole boy repub party up here is supporting Lisa though; not that that counts for much.

Ak politics is still small time and that is good. I don't think the money matters as much as people think; the turnout does.
