It’s a first for first ladies: Michelle Obama and Laura Bush will appear together next month on the 9th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks in Shanksville, Pa., where United flight 93 went down after the crew and passengers fought back against terrorists.
Administration officials said the event will build on Michelle Obama's focus on the heroes of Sept. 11 — celebrating their heroism, honoring their memories and supporting their families.

Unfortunately the last 100 years have caused the definitions to change and shift dramatically. In TR’s days, the main supporters of segregation were the Democrats. Republicans were in many ways a lot closer to today's liberals.
And old TR, if he were alive today, would NOT be considered a “progressive.” The liberals would undoubtedly call him a racist, imperialists, capitalist tool. And by the current "liberal" definition of such things, they'd be correct

Read a literature book written in the middle of the last century. The beginning had a sum up of the events from the late 1800s until the WWII. Democrats and Progressives were far different than they are now.
