WaPo, Editorially a Proponent of Church-State Separation, Worries About Too Few Muslim Chaplains
NewsBusters ^ | Mon, 08/23/2010 | By Ken Shepherd

Those familiar with the Washington Post know that the paper is a staunch defender of a very liberal vision of the separation of church and state. For example, the paper's editorial board was heavily critical of the Supreme Court's Mojave cross ruling.

But when it comes to the supposed dearth of Muslim chaplains at Virginia prisons, Sunday's Metro section went into full hand-wringing mode. "Inadequate Funds for Chaplains," complained a subheader for the page B1 story by staffer Kevin Sieff.

Has anyone ever seen one of the major secular humanist news outlets weeping and wringing their hands over the lack of Catholic or Protestant ministers in any facility anywhere where the state had authority? I sure can't recall it ever happening. Now, however, we're seeing that the major media outlets are all in favor of actively promoting Islam in spite of their aggressive assaults on the most innocent display faith by any other religion.

Somehow, this sort of thing needs to be legally challenged and Islam forced to play by the same rules that apply to Christian and Jewish displays of faith. This is clearly an argument for giving a preference to a specific religion, exactly what he Constitution really forbids as opposed what the Constitution has been twisted into by the same people who now want to promote Islam.

More imams in our prisons will mean more terrorist recruiters. These people will be sorry when they are forced to confront the truth about islam.

Most amazing statement in the article - “In the absence of qualified Muslim religious service providers, inmates can become attracted to radical views and the politico-religious messages coming from other inmates,” The presumption being that Muslim clergy would never, never, ever, ever have or vocalize radiacal views. The BS alarm just went off.

These people will be sorry when they are forced to confront the truth about islam.

This sort of people have spent their entire lives never having to face the consequences of their own actions and having someone else pay the dues for their freedom. They can't even conceive of having to face up to the consequences of what they do or even ever admitting that they ever made any sort of error rather than simply ignoring the matter or if it cannot be ignored, shifting the blame onto someone else. This time, though, you could be right. The more someone brown noses the Islamists, the better example target they are in the eyes of the jhidists.

The BS alarm just went off.

I guess the Post forgot about Northern Virginia's imam al-Awlaki who schooled two 9/11 hijackers and Major Hasan during his stint at our local mosque.

Good thought, but, in reality they are too stupid to recognize it when it hits them. They have allowed their blind hatred of Christianity and the United States to blind them to the truth. They will die in with their blindness and hared intact. Their last conscious thought will be,"This is Bush's, Cheney's, and Halabruton's fault."

So use OUR MONEY to pay for the terrorist indoctrinators? They are not chaplains and it is not a religion.

When leftists say “separation of church and state”,
they simply mean “separation of Christianity from society”.

They only oppose Christianity.

I would worry more about the lack of teachers of Baha'i. They seem like nice people.

Where is the Washington Post’s editorials speaking out against Genital mutilation of young girls, the honor killing of young women who refuse arranged marriage and the lack of women’s basic human rights within the Islamic religion??

I think we all no the reason why.

America’s prisons are the breeding ground for new muslim converts. And, I’m not sure that the new converts are exactly what islam wants or needs.

IMO, the fact that so many people in prison convert to islam is a tacit admission that they need structure and discipline in their lives. islam provides that - but so do many other things in life - the military, for example, and . . . oh! Being a grown-up and taking responsibility instead of always acting like a kid!!

We may have enough Muslims already in some areas of the country.

“As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness:

United States — Muslim 1.0%
Australia — Muslim 1.5%
Canada — Muslim 1.9%
China — Muslim 1%-2%
Italy — Muslim 1.5%
Norway — Muslim 1.8%

At 2% and 3% they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs:

Denmark — Muslim 2%
Germany — Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom — Muslim 2.7%
Spain — Muslim 4%
Thailand — Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population.

They will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature it on their shelves — along with threats for failure to comply. (United States).

France — Muslim 8%
Philippines — Muslim 5%
Sweden — Muslim 5%
Switzerland — Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands — Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad & Tobago — Muslim 5.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islam is not to convert the world but to establish Sharia law over the
entire world.

== = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Has been going on for years.
Before Cassius Clay and/or Lew Alcindor.
Believe the ‘original’ Muslim groups in prison were to band together against ‘other’ groups.

Why isn’t the support for the ground zero mosque by our elected officials a violation of the separation of churh and state? Why doesn’t that violate the establishment clause???
