It is good news for the people of NC-07 that they can compare their choices side by side. This debate is the first of three planned debates in August and September (see Events on the website for details on future debates). It starts at 7 PM and will go until approximately 9:30 PM.
The address for tonight's debate: McKeithan Center, Cape Fear Community College's North Campus, 4500 Blue Clay Road, Castle Hayne.

Is this debate televised statewide? If so, on what channel(s)?
Thanks for the heads up on this......there will be much to celebrate. McIntyre calls himself an “Independent”. What a joke!
I watched the debate. Both Pantano and McIntyre were well-spoken and professional.
Pantano made it clear that while McIntyre has brought home lots of good pork, it’s time that we as Americans start making the tough choices and give up the pork if we don’t want to be further under China’s thumb. He sounded as though he was running against Nancy Pelosi. He got in several good digs on McIntyre (one I recall was about McIntyre supporting pro-choice leadership while claiming to be pro-life).
McIntyre focussed on what good he has done and has brought home. He insisted that he is his own man and not a Pelosi follower, but that he is proud of his middle-of-the-road record (though claiming he’s conservative??).
The crowd seemed to be fairly evenly split, cheering several times (IIRC, more than twice for Pantano, once for McIntyre), and booing McIntryre once. Both men shook hands amicably after the debate.
Mitchell, NC ping please?
I almost forgot: both candidates actually answered the questions they were asked. That was a refreshing change!
