Get prepared now!

We've been preparing for over 10 years. It takes a while to get a sustainable food plot going, i.e., fruit trees, grape vines, berry bushes, greenhouse, raised beds, livestock, etc, plus the preparations to be able to defend it as necessary. People had better be preparing for the long haul. This ugliness we've got coming at us ain't gonna be over in two or three months...

I agree with his basic assessment of fascism.

But as for the civil unrest.... People have been predicting that for years.

The bootm line is that as long as the media does its propaganda job, and most Americans still have a roof over their heads and food in their bellies, it’s not gonna happen.

While the Tea Party turnouts have been good, let’s face it we make up a small percentage of the population.

And how many even at Tea Parties would be willing to take it to the next level (including violence)?

I just got in 50 3- and 5- gallon food buckets here, along with mylar bag. Will start filling them next week.

Salt and soap will be good items for bartering if the worst comes to pass (hopefully not).

Enter the fourth turning....exit, stage left, baby boomers.

The next 20 years will be maddening.

Many will survive while many more will fold up like a chair.

Those who are mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically strong will weather this economic hurricane in one piece.

Debt is deflationary. Accumulate more debt, get more deflation.

Pretty simple.

With so many pundits now calling another crash, I’m finally optimistic that we’re on the cusp of a great rally (I can see November from my house).

I’m looking at plans for a chicken coop myself.

If you have a sizable grassy area that is reasonably level a chicken tractor (coop that can be moved around easily) makes more sense. I’m working on one now. Chickens eat a lot of bugs and grass (Guineas, too). The benefit of a chicken tractor is mobile bug control plus free fertilizer. Check out www.backyardchickens.com. Tons of pictures and plans for coops and chicken tractors, as well as lots of good info on raising birds, breeds, combating diseases, links to suppliers, etc.

America is the largest exporter of food in the world. Even in a "Greatest Depression", I don't think anybody's gonna starve (excepting perhaps under extreme natural-disaster conditions which are isolated from relief efforts, or something like that). Other parts of the world might starve, but probably not the one country which grows more food than anywhere else, by far.

Yes, it's not pleasant to imagine being reduced to bread and water, either; but it's better than actual famine, which I don't foresee as very likely without significant Global Cooling. (So shut up about the CO2 level, Algore, we may actually need MORE of the stuff to keep our croplands warm!)

The crux of the problem, Celente argues, is that the middle class has been wiped out. America used to be a land of opportunity for all, where hard-working people could build their own small businesses in their own communities and live prosperous and fulfilling lives. But now a collusion of state and corporate interests that Celente describes as "fascism" have conspired to help only the biggest companies and the richest Americans. This has put a shocking amount of the country's wealth in the hands of a privileged few and left the rest of the country to subsist on chicken-feed wages and low job satisfaction as Wal-Mart "associates" -- or worse.

The answer, Celente says, is to bring back the laws that prevented huge companies from getting so big and powerful, and put some opportunity back in the hands of ordinary people. But doing that is going to take a while. And in the meantime, we're headed for trouble.

One cause of this inequality is that we are importing thru our immigration policies 1.2 million poor people a year. And they help depress wages and add to our welfare burden.

The U.S. adds one international migrant (net) every 36 seconds. Immigrants account for one in 8 U.S. residents, the highest level in more than 80 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13. In a decade, it will be one in 7, the highest it has been in our history. And by 2050, one in 5 residents of the U.S. will be foreign-born.

“While the Tea Party turnouts have been good, let’s face it we make up a small percentage of the population.”

It’s been proven it only takes 3% of the people to build a great nation.

It won't be the tea party types by the marading hordes, gangs and/or those that do and have, and the real power-hungry extremist on both sides, that will create chaos as they become the new highway men and make you stand and deliver, if you are lucky.

Thanks but I have a really small back yard and I’m only considering about 4 or 5 birds. I wish I had enough property for one of those to be a consideration.
